I don't remember a popularity score being here when I first logged on. Was this back in the late 90s? I had an account here back then, however I can't recall this.

Yeah back in Forumplanet days you had the ability to rate a topic from 0 to 5 stars.
That's why if you talk to Freak or other retrodungeonite people they'll say something like.

"This is a great topic.
5 stars"

or something.

Rating a post is new, though.

I think you should give it the benefit of doubt... for now. I can see this system emerging into pointless flame wars.

I'm still a bit upset about there not being a dislike button on facebook. There seems to be no way of making it clear for people that their status update is pointless and / or annoying without insulting them or striking an argument.
