Kinds of looks that way lol.  But lets hope not. As huge of a CV fan i am, Darksiders is its own gem by itself IMO.  I personally love 1 and 2, a lot of shit got thrown at 2 because it was so different but to me the only thing that disappointed was when the games ended....and they were pretty long as it is lol.  I'm just glad to see that the rumors and fake trailers can be put to rest with this video!  Can't wait!  ;D
But enough talk, HAVE AT YOU!!!!!!!!

I don't think so tbh. The gameplay featured in this vid looks pretty slow and clumsy to me. Maybe because it's not the final product, but it doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. Maybe I've just been spoiled lately with high quality gaming.

I really hope they retain the Zelda=esque dungeons with open world elements from Darksiders 2, then again... I have both games, but not the time to beat them

I thought the original Darksiders could have been a decent blueprint for a 3D Castlevania game. Now part 3 hammers it home even at it's earliest state.

As much as I have never really been intrigued by Darksiders because of the art style used in the first two games, that combat footage seriously has me considering buying this one at least. And I could totally see that being the basis of a 3D Castlevania.

Sadly, I hate to be the one to point out the obvious, but didn't Devil May Cry effectively perfect this style of gameplay way back in 2001? I mean, Lament of Innocence, God Of War, and even Darksiders all essentially just use tweaked variations on that theme. Actually, if you play Devil May Cry with the mindset of it being a Castlevania game, the first game REALLY GIVES OFF THAT VIBE. Devil May Cry 2001 was essentially if Castlevania and Resident Evil had a baby. Yes, eventually it grew up into a bit of a street punk with a "don't tell me how to live my life" vibe, but that first game was to me TEXTBOOK Castlevania in all but name. Even had the platforming elements!

I do think Konami should look to this sort of stuff for more inspiration though.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.
