I started with SR3 as well. The game SR2 a try after that. And yes the level of absurdity is part of its charm, lol. It will get more-so near the end too.

I've been looking around Steam for a while for a new game to sink my teeth into. I tried out Ark: Survival Evolved yesterday - it's a lot of fun, has a great deal of content and depth, but it just won't run properly on my PC. I might give it another go once it's fully released.

I ended up picking up Elite: Dangerous, which is a game I've always wanted to try - it's still downloading. I hear the grind is pretty tedious, but the exploration has me excited. I guess we'll see what happens when I start playing :P

So how is the 2nd game compared to 3? Worth picking up?

(Also, to anyone that may have read The Authority, I made my character go barefoot, in honor of Jack Hawksmoor, or something.)

I would recommend it. There seems to be more to SR2 then SR3. And the city of Stillwater seems to feel more alive the Steelport does. There's more variation in terms of locations as well. The character creation menu in SR2 is sub-par when compared to SR3 & 4, but don't let that hold you back. I never did give the original game a play-through as they never made it for PS3 nor do I own an XBOX 360 so I can't tell you about that one. But give 2 a play-through and see for yourself. You will find more absurdity in SR4 and Gat out of Hell.

Awesome! Thanks for the recommendation, I'll have to check SR2 out.

After failing the expert challenges in King of Fighters 02 Unlimited Match 300 times on purpose, I have now unlocked everything the game has to offer for art,  and characters (mainly just for Nightmare Geese, everyone I had already unlocked 2 days ago). A lot of effort for a character I'm no good with. :P

Eternal Ring by From Software and Bloodborne! =) I'm planning to purchase King's Field: The Ancient City for PS@ and the two King's Field for PS1.
Standing here, I realize
You were just like me, trying to make history.
But who's to judge the right from wrong?

But in the end it has to be this way.

I saw the US version of King's Field in a used game store near me, on top of a stack of games on the counter. I asked about the price and the girl told me it hadn't been put in their inventory yet.

It wasn't there the next time I went.  :(

Eternal Ring

That is one game I always wondered about but never got to play. Hope it's good.

Gave it once a try, found it really crappy, never touched it again.

Kagayaku Kisetsu e /To the Radiant Season (PS1)

Just like to see such a plot about the daily life like that, and the Eternal World described in the game sounds like a really good place. I was not happy because I made all decision myself, it costs me lots of time to hear characters' voice and get a first image of plot; But at last it gave me a bad ending that obviously feel "incomplete" and that sucks my @$$. It's the reason why I'm not quite fond of visual novels...
All the things are in Japanese; I think there is an English patch but it's for PC version, and I'm tired of adjusting different PC specs just for a little amount of specified games.
The game ISO image is quite difficult to find on the internet (specified for PS1 version...), but I eventually got it at a Chinese site...
I know little Japanese language but I have no problem to read the plot. The PS1 version was developed by KID in 1999 and they made lots of drawback for PS1 but I think PS1 version is above 95% of the original and no obvious lost seen in the transition. (In PS1 version there's no text box and the text would fill the whole screen but I think it's okay; I'm the type which mainly focus on the plot when I'm really inside visual novels so it's okay. Also I don't quite like some of the character portraits since the eyes of some girls are wayyyyyy too big... But at least Mizuka is okay, I think.)
Probably I'll take a second assault to get a true ending in next few days; The quest to the Eternal World is just about to start.

Right now I'm trying to free up some storage space on my PS3, so I'm playing PS Plus games I downloaded in the past and deleting them as I go. Tried Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood for an hour or so, but didn't really like it. Moved on to Siren: Blood Curse...seems kinda so-so...hope it gets better.

I've been kinda going through a Bethesda blitz for a while now. Rotating from Fallout's 3, New Vegas, 4 and Skyrim.

For some unknown reason I've been playing Sonic Heroes.  I borrowed it as a kid, but didn't beat it.  Bought a copy for nostalgia purposes, played through a campaign, decided to play again after months of not playing and... oh my, this game has problems.  Controls feel slippery (whether you liked or hated how the Adventure games felt, this game's worse), special stages are borked and you have to play the game four times to get the final level while having all seven Chaos Emeralds.  Not saying the game is irredeemable, it's got some good points, and it's an overall average game, but yeah those are some of my issues.
