I've played Hades. It's cute for what it is and the characters and voices fit well. There's also some good light comedy too. The only thing that really puts it down for me is that it's one of those games where you are required to die in order to eventually make your way to the end of the game. It's a concept that doesn't really suit my play style and eventually I got tired of it as I felt I was getting nowhere.

Played through the Quake II remaster on medium difficulty. It's now a much better game than it originally was on PC with its subtle gameplay tweaks that go a long way. I never used to be a fan of this game and now I am.

It includes the N64 version, or rather a rebuild of it using Quake II's engine. (More specifically, Nightdive's KEX Engine remaster of the Quake II engine.) The N64 original used a modified version of the Quake engine used for Quake 64, so it actually plays quite a bit different. As such, it's not the perfect recreation of Quake II 64 that I'd hoped it would be, but it's a good effort, just not something that replaces the original.

I just recently got my custom racing arcade cabinet set up, so I've been playing lots of AB Cop. I want whatever drugs were involved in the making of this game; I can't even begin to explain it, but it's crazy in a hilarious way. The bikini girl in a dog kennel being held captive by a circus clown is the most wtf moment for me.  :-X

Played a lot of Turbo Outrun, too. It's not as brutally hard as Outrun was, but the turbo button may as well be the "hold my beer" button, because it'll definitely cause wrecks, lol.

Also got a PC with an external drive specifically for lightgun games on my TV. Played through Time Crisis and the first two HotD games so far. Still trying to get my lightguns to work for Operation Wolf and HotD remake though.  :-\

Also just bought the most recent Getsu Fuuma Den and Ghosts N Goblins Resurrection. Plan on starting one of those soon.

TotK. Completed 44 Shrines and defeated the Rito boss.

The ‘plein air’ approach to a temple is interesting, but I wouldn’t say it’s better than BotW’s divine beast, Vah Medoh. The boss was interesting but a bit damn easy, even compared to Windblight Ganon. Hopefully this game follows the trend of Rito = easiest/ weakest.

I finally caved this week and booted up Final Fantasy 7 after having it in my backlog for years. After a series of blunders that forced me to play through the opening reactor mission three times, I've finally been making good progress. If I had to guess, I'd say that I'm probably in the last third-to-quarter of disc 1.

Normally JRPGs are the genre I default to when I want to relax and play something mindless, but the combat in this game really makes me sweat.........

Just beat Double Dragon Gaiden. Pretty decent game. I like how they incorporated Willy, Duke, and Mysterious Woyer (lol) into the same game. It's decently fun, but I got wrecked at the final stage playing with Billy and Jimmy. Billy and Marian is the way to go...a night and day difference in difficulty. I'm liking this a lot more than DD4. Still not what I had hoped for in continuing the vibe they had in the first two games, but still fun nonetheless.

Trapped in a loop of playing Monster Hunter Rise/MHR: Sunbreak and Splatoon 3.  Every once and a while, I sneak a game from the back catalog in there.

Started playing Super Mario Wonder. It’s pretty good, giving me og SMW vibes.

Played through the Super Mario RPG remake and
(click to show/hide)

It's a lot easier than the original game but I like that it kept things mostly the same with a few new surprises. I really hope Nintendo implements a hard mode in an update.

Going through my second playthrough of RE4 Remake (my wife got me a PS5 for my birthday). I really like how close they stayed to the original, but I wonder if they should've done more? I dunno. It's fun playing again, though. My first playthrough was on Hardcore, and the Salazar fight was a pain in the ass. Other than that, it was good, although I felt like I was just limping by throughout my first playthrough. Krauser feels like even more of a dork in this one, lol. Overall pretty great game, though.

Next on my list is the new Robocop game. Can't wait!

Muse Dash is my bitter pleasure up until the point when Chronicles of the Wolf is finally fully geared and released in the future. I freagin love the song Internet Overdose and I was driven to purchase any music game that has the song. The task to unlock that song takes forever in Muse Dash but eventually get it.

Damn, there really could have some sort of story mode in Muse Dash.

I completed my first playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3. I was playing as a Barbarian, along with Astarion (rogue/thief), Gale(Lightning Sorc), and a Paladin. I loved Div 1 and 2 and I like BG3 just as much if not more. My highest praises. Amazing game.

Recently did a run-through of the Streets of Rage Remake project (v5.2), having never played the originals. What an incredibly tight fangame. It's really a crying shame that Sega hit them with a DMCA.

I've also been revisiting some old games via Fightcade - namely Heritage for the Future, and I'm planning on doing a co-op runthrough of Shadows over Mystara with a friend of mine via Fightcade as well.

Super Mario Wonder does a really good job of recapturing that feeling of playing Mario games as a child. There are so many secrets, and surprises in every level, plus the way that the wonder flower changes every level is really fun.

I give Super Mario Wonder a 9 out of 10.
