In the same fashion as the Nes and Snes Minis (Famicom and Super Famicom minis in my brain), there's this new mini Playstation!
It will have 20 titles but so far they've only introduced Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms as part of the line-up.

The controller is interesting. The only case they re-release the original PS1 controller, but with
USB cable !!!!
Just as what I was headcanon-ing in an earlier post https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/index.php?topic=8938.0
I actually have some doubt about the control scheme of controller due to my only concern is the controller all the time. Also I wonder if the DualShock model will come out as add-on following this...
[randomblablabla - What I fear]
As USB cable based controller easier to be ripped off, there would be 3rd party ripoffs of the controller following as always, but the fag could only be more and more this time because ripoffs REALLY liked the original PS1 design... And I swear they would just slap the mark on the pre-existence ripoff products at the same time when the real deal comes out, for quick money.
Unless ripoffs doing something that surpasses the real deal control scheme-wise (only happened tiny little times IMO).

Oh cool another platform to not release FF8 on.

I got emailed about this from PlayStation. It seems fine enough, Jumping Flash although an early PSX game is pretty neat, hopefully they'll include some gems like Alundra.

Waffles generally don't contain this much salt. :-X

I was on the fence about it myself, but my wife really wanted it so I preordered mine from Best Buy. One more tiny box to add to the collection, I suppose.

My personal pick for 20 games would be:
Metal Gear Solid
SotN
Castlevania Chronicles
Silent Hill
Resident Evil Directors Cut
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 3
Dino Crisis 2
Tenchu
Tenchu 2
Lunar 2
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy Tactics
Chrono Cross
Grand Turismo 2
Suikoden 2
Megaman X 4
RPG Maker
Army Men Air Attack (Don’t judge me)
Grand Theft Auto 2

He's starting a new trend. Salted Waffles. Just add more syrup.
Back on topic:
If they put SOTN in, I'm buying this.

One can only hope, but something tells me it's Chronicles or bust, particularly if SOTN is part of an upcoming compilation.

Full List.
Sadly no SOTN. :(

Glad Wild Arms made the list...
I know just about everyone (myself included) ended up buying that as an act of desperation while waiting for FFVII to release, but after having played FFVII and Wild Arms many times, in many ways , I respect Wild Arms more.
-
Surprised they didn't have Loaded on that list.

The Japanese version's games sound better to me.

I'm assuming FFVII International means the version with Emerald and Ruby Weapon and Summon All, rather than all of the 1/ 32 Soldiers which was only exclusive to the Japanese version.

Overall , doesn't look too impressive to me. As much as I love the PS1 for the classics it created, in many cases, I'd say they don't age as well with their primitive use of 3D rendering--The SNES emulations usually look sharper to me, and best of all , I don't have to worry about load screens--just jump into the action.

NEWS:
Turns out this "Playstation Classic" is running an open-source emulator (PCSX):
https://techcrunch.com/2018/11/09/sonys-playstation-classic-uses-an-open-source-emulator-to-play-its-games/
I'll wait until it is hackable.
Right now I'm enjoying my NES classic (my SNES classic I haven't broken into, yet, but it should be great as well). The NES pretty much has all I need since with the hack I can play SNES and Genesis and other stuff.
That, and my RetroPIE was disappointing in terms of how annoying it is to set up and such.
