My bro was disappointed with Arkham Origins. But mainly from the story's perspective. Batman was rude to Alfred in his speaking lines which was never the case in any of the whole of the history of Batman. They've never had that kind of relationship, especially when you consider that after the murder Alfred raised Bruce himself. But I guess that's what happens when you outsource a game to a different company and they want to do their own thing with it  :P

It's also Batman's first real instance of the shit hitting the fan in what would later prove to be a typical Batman way. Right now he's not used to it and without the experience he has by the time of Asylum, I think he's actually somewhat emotionally compromised, similar to "first day on the job jitters". He's dealt with gangsters like Black Mask before. He's dealt with Assassins before, so that all is stuff he can easily scale to -- that's all variations on a theme for him... but Joker presents him with something wholly new and traumatizingly evil, and it causes him to honestly lose his grip on his composure a bit.

At least that's how I rationalized it.

I loooooved Origins. I kind of hated Bruce being a dick to Alfred too, but the combat in the game was so fun. Not sure if they did something different in that game, or if it was just from the experience I had playing the previous two, but the combat really clicked with me for some reason.

Finally finished Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. That took a while. I have to say I'm pleased with the game and what it was trying to do. However there were far more bugs in this title then in AS Origins. The cut-scenes felt rushed in this one, as if Obisoft was trying to save on space for the rest of the game. It wouldn't have killed them to flesh things out a bit more. Also trying to find clues to the whereabouts of all the cultists did reach a point where an internet walk-through was definitely required. all-in-all, this isn't a bad game to be sure. it just needs to be fleshed out more in terms of bugs and story. That and a final sequence with Layla in the modern-day sequences would have been nice as well just to help round things off.

Playing Dragon Quest XI, i have 100 hours of game play and i still haven't seen the true ending. One of the best Dragon Quest games in the series for me, with many plot twists and extra things to discover!!

Finally bought Final Fantasy XV, and... while fun, it really should have been an original IP that has an occasional nod to Final Fantasy.

It doesn't feel like a Final Fantasy game at all. More like a Kingdom Hearts game with all the Disney and FF elements removed. Everything, from the gameplay, music, character design, and story so far has all screamed Kingdom Hearts to me. Given the amount of creative staffing overlap between this and KH3, I really can't say I'm surprised in the slightest to say any of that.

Also the character names are just ridiculous, like someone just started chucking words through an online English-to-Latin translator and at the end of it all went "BEHOLD! I HAVE CREATED NAMES!"

It's a fun as hell game, but... yeah... just not really worthy of the once-vaunted Final Fantasy regency.

I think it should have either stayed as Versus XIII or become its own thing entirely -- it feels like too much a compromised product.

@Lumi: Blame Tetsuya Nomura for the lol names. He is fail at naming characters.
It will never be Versus 13 since it was rotting in development hell. FFXV should be another IP, that I can agree with.

It's final fantasy in name only. All of the screens shots told me this long before its release.

Oh don't worry. XV is big in Japan. They're churning out XV goods which includes an eau de toilette line for the 4 main characters.
And finger puppets! (I have to have those) http://movic.jp/shop/r/r102870_hy

My bro and his roommate are also stoked about this game. From all that they've seen it's nothing but solid.

Welp, now it's Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
And... well...

GODS BLESS BISEXUAL SPARTAN BICEPS

I MEAN KASSANDRA.

I haven't crushed this hard on a video game character since Tali Zorah in the Mass Effect games.
Back when those were relevant *cough*

Like, dear gods Odyssey is basically The Witcher 3. Starring Wonder Woman. Who is relentlessly, aggressively bi.

And puts the SASS in asSASSin.

And the map and gameplay are basically everything I ever wanted Metal Gear Solid V to be yet wasn't, so years later I finally have my fix and I no longer mourn the passing of Metal Gear.
Ubisoft done good with this one.

It's pretty much perfect.

According to the site, it has the freshness of lemon grass and lime with strong woodsy scent and musk.
