Now that we're talking about weird childhood toons, does anyone remember Mighty Max? The cartoon about the kid with the magical-teleportation hat who has a talking owl and a barbarian for buddies?

"Yes, I am on a drug. It's called Charlie Sheen. It's not available, because if you try it you will die. Your face will melt off and your children will weep over your exploded body."

I remember Mighty Max being talked about in grade school, but I never actually saw it.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

Yessssssssssss. I had the vhs of the episodes where he fought Skullmaster. I mostly remember him fighting those underwater zombies from atlantis or whatever. I also remember the tale of Max's predecessor, MAXIMUS, who was an ancient gladiator-type.

Who also wore the same red baseball hat. It was a bit of an anachronistic stew.

Did you have any of the playsets? I still have that shark-themed one where I guess Max had to fight some underwater mad scientist. The playset folded into a shark's head.

For those not in the know, Mighty Max was pretty much Polly Pocket for boys.

Mine was the Egyptian themed fold-out temple that became a snake while my brother had the scorpion. I used to watch Mighty Max however I stopped after one season. Either that or it was no longer shown on it's current channel. Who knows who many more seasons I missed out of the series.

And speaking of series, anybody remember this tune?

Bots Master Intro
"Spirituality is God's gift to humanity...
Religion is Man's flawed interpretation of Spirituality given back to humanity..."

Nice nostalgia thread. I thought I was one of the only boys of my generation to like Jem. Guess not. I think I liked the theme song more than the show itself, but I did find myself tuning in more than my sister.

I have many guilty pleasure entertainment outlets, but there's really only one that led to me being tormented and teased by the little shitheads in elementary school, and that is...

I saw the occasional Card Captor Sakura episode but I never did really get into it.

PS I'm also heavy into Star Trek  ;D
