I picked it up today along with a used PSP slim...

Jeez, the voice acting in SotN was NOT improved at all.

friend let me borrow his psp, and

I can seriously say I haven't had this much fun with a Castlevania game in a while.  I love all the little touches they added, how nice the game looks, and how well it plays.

Good job Konami. I'm buying a copy of this game and I only have a DS LOL

I've heard the intro and the ending, and I'd say that the voice acting has slightly improved. The new script sucks, though.

Nope, she's right. In-game dialogue sucks.

I like the new dialogue.  It's a weclome and refreshing different flavor from the original voices that have been heard for too long.

While Dracula, Death, and Shaft (especially Death) have been improved, hearing such a juvenile voice emit from him...well, it's just not Alucard. Robert Belgrade spoke in a monotone at times, true, but his empty coldness and deep voice embodied Al more than a high pitched younger voice.
My biggest bellyache- the previous "WHAT!?"is now a "wha..."

For the most part I think the dialogue is just as bad as the original.  But there are some parts that are improved, like the Succubus lines.  It's also nice to finally get a little verbal exchange with Death before you kick his ass.  It always felt weird that he takes all your crap at the beginning of the game and threatens you and all, then when you finally catch up with him he doesn't say a word to you.

In the original SotN when you get to Death, Alucard DOES converse with him..

I only own Castlevania: Dracula X for the SNES and Dracula X: Rondo of Blood for the PCE and I need to get Castlevania: The Dracula X Chonicles for the PSP and try out the remake. :)

The remake really should of had the graphics animation, character spites etc like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night but it's better than nothing I guess. 8)

What I love about the original VA's was that they had that unique allure associated with the characters, despite the dialogue itself.

It would've been interesting if they somehow got the original actors to speak the new lines  :P

I actually think the opposite; the original script had more flair than the curent one, it was just saddled with some of the worst acting this side of Daddy Day Camp. People love to quote the old conversation between Dracula and Richter, but if you were to have read it without seeing the intro it's pretty serious.
Soleil, not Soleiyu
Orlock, not Olrox
Bathory, not Bartley
Richter, not Richiter

Before you fight him? I do not remember this.

Death: So you've made it this far. In the name of your father, cease this foolishness!

Alucard: Not while there is a breath in my body.

Death: Then for the master I'll feast on your soul this night.
