for someone that likes anime, I'm glad its not anime!  ;D (like seriously, 99.9% games out there are either anime, cartoon, or realism primarily/exclusively centered on american/european looking people).

scenarios centered on Japanese people and Japan locations sure need more games with photorealistic art direction, and not just in visual novels (Siren 1 and 2 are so amazing aiming for more photorealistic characters instead of 100% artificial ones)

I find real Japanese people much more appealing/interesting than anime/cartoon/artificial characters, there is a flavor of beauty, art, and essence that only real people have, an artstyle  that only 'The Creator' has achieved and pioneered in this world,
yet games dont utilize it enough, especially Japanese games.  Japan really should celebrate the artistic visual authenticity of their people, race, and homeland more at the realistic level of art in the game industry, not just live actions movies and the rare visual novel that gets photorealistic art direction.

so at the very least, despite being on the lower tiers of genres, 428's devs get my respect going for full realism
INSTEAD of contributing to the oversaturation of artificial characters/worlds in their game design.
so at least in that aspect, they have my respect with their determination to go full realism with its characters and enviornment.
and even Siren 1 and Siren 2 showed that is possible for other genres to go for more realism too in 3D, of course I'm not saying all games should go full realism, but there is a WIDE space in the industry that could sure use more photorealistic people and enviornments.  its an art that the Japanese industry could make more use of, instead of surrendering to the ethnic dilution and artificialness that cartoons and anime causes.

though yea, I guess anime fans just feel anime and pseudo real 3D fictional characters are easier to digest, though I feel there is vast potential in photorealism that even RPGs have yet to uncover and genres as a whole yet to explore and master.  overall I say a game with photorealism can be just as fun or more fun than if the same game were anime/cartoon/fictional 3D model.

though just as live action movies are more popular than fictional/constructed characters/animated characters,  I feel photorealistic games can be just as popular or more popular than animated/artificial based games.  its just that the industry really hasnt invested enough on photorealistic arc, and instead go for 2D or 3D computer generated art.
