Ranma 1/2 PC Engine Super CD games

Those geniuses achieved more with less and with much older hardware!  While other devs just slap on still portraits and text, these devs go all out with anime tier presentation, voiceovers with lip sync and 2D cinematic animations most modern developers are too lazy to do persistently throughout their game.
(story driven RPG series like Final Fantasy didnt start getting voiceovers until PS2 generation.  Visual Novels have HD art but lack the storytelling animation production values these Ranma 1/2 games have.  and almost all adventure games lack the alternate story changing cutscenes features two of these legendary classics feature!
and the gameplay sprites are taller and more mature than some modern 2D games that just sink into chibi land with their gameplay assets.  plus the detail is outstanding.  They achieved all that during an age before cinematic storytelling became a tradition during the PS1 era. and even then, the SNES, PS1, and later generations lack anything at this level of passionate expression!  The gameplay is solid too and the bosses can put up a better fight than games where people just mash through.  there are battles were spacing, evasion, timing and strategic use of certain moves can affect the outcome. )   and 2D animations takes more work to do than 3D.   Plus the artstyle and coloring is so charismatic!   Its hard to find modern anime games that look as appealing and fun. Though the games are based on Rumiko's art style since its based on her series, it really is splendid artistry, and the developers deserve more credit because even these days there are devs that don't really nail the artstyle of whatever anime their game is based on.  I like Rumiko Takahashi's artstyle infinire times better than Akira Toriyama's (who is really overrated and spammed in things like Dragon Quest), though I really don't care for Inuyasha (but its kinda like almost no one gives a damn about Dr. Slump, but may be Dragon Ball fans.  not everything an author makes is great, though it really irks me how Inuyasha turned out to be more popular than Ranma 1/2.  but I guess most anime fans are suckers for fox/demon tropes and conventional storytelling.  Ranma 1/2 was what really put Rumiko's talents and unique concepts on the map, well yea they shouldn't have 'ended' it, but it was something that has more open possibilities and more likeable characters.  but Inuyasha is like not really that different from the flood of anime that are similiar.  plus Ranma 1/2 has the best humor and character designs and personalities, there's just so many ways it can unfold.  not a lot of unique/uncommon one of a kind manga/anime get as many games as Ranma 1/2 did. Plus one of the things I liked about Ranma 1/2 series, is that it wasn't too serious.  There are a lot of series and tragic and dark stories out there, but Ranma 1/2 is just fun and makes life brighter, while at the sametime, having an action edge.  There's really no other manga/anime with the balance Ranma 1/2 has )

Well enough rambling.

Sailor Moon, and Urusei Yatsura, as well as Ghost Sweeper Mikami were pretty much almost the same games on that console. Though these 3 fall more under the visual novel idea than any action in them. Valis had some decent animation in it as well for the PCE CD.

Ranma 1/2 on portable is ahead of its time, basically Shenmue in 2D except with an actual great plot and characters

The SNES RPG is also mindblowing epic

these dev teams really achieved more with less technologies.  or rather, they surpassed their current tech and created things ahead of their time.
really outstanding efforts and achievements!
