What's with the Wallstreet crisis?

Is it effecting you in any way? I was reading about it in the few newspapers I could get my hands on in the army. Sounded serious, all the headlines were like: "The lowest Dollar rate in decades", "It's official: the budget crisis is here", "Billions in investments gone with the wind", "the stock exchange is falling apart"...
Any explanations for a guy who knows nothing of the American economy?

That is, of course, an advantage, but that's a painful blow to a country as dependent on the American currency as Israel.
And, of course, people who invested most of their money in the US Dollar.

It's HELL on my 401k.  If this continues I'm gonna end up with no money when I retire...

I don't even want to look at my 401k statement right now.

It might send us into a recession, which would make it much harder to get a job...if it doesn't send us into another Great Depression first ;_;

There goes the price of milk, gas and grain.  >:(

Say goodbye to dairy, bread, pasta, pizza, being able to drive to school/job, and having fun anymore.  :(

Well, we've been in and out of recessions often in the past few decades. It seems this one we'll probably be entering is teetering on falling into a full depression. It's not a good thing...
