I always saw this song as "The Heavy Metal Monster Mash."

During the week leading up to October, I played through the Costume Quest games, knowing I wouldn't make time for games this month. (All about dat horror movie marathon.) I love how these games, especially the first one, just brings you back to that time of being a kid going trick-or-treating. Fun I can no longer have, but maybe one day I'll have kids I can vicariously live through, heh.

I have plans for a Betrayal at House on the Hill night at my place with the new expansion coming out soon. Do a couple games of that, watch a movie, maybe start a bonfire, good times.

Aside from that, might go to the local theme park for its Halloween-themed season, go to an apple orchard, and might head up to Duluth for horror attractions there, all with the lovely lady.

I'll update later today or this weekend on the first week's round of October Horrorthon 2016. I've watched some damn good stuff so far, hope I can continue to have time to do so.

I was going to go to Halloween horror nights last night, but hurricane Matthew shut everything down.

That sucks man, hope they give you a refund at least.

(All about dat horror movie marathon.)

I've decided to follow your lead on that this year and have been watching more horror movies, some of these I watched just before October but so far I've got-

Alien - Classic

Aliens - Classic

Waxwork - Not as good as I remember from when I was 12, but precious little is. Still a nice little monster movie from the genre golden age that was the 80s.

Monster Bash - Here's an interesting one, low budget horror comedy that's basically just a wrestling pay-per-view style event but with monsters. Enjoyable for what it is, but would only recommend to people who (like myself) are both fans of vintage wrestling and classic monsters. Prominent cameos from wrestling legends Jimmy "Mouth from the South" Hart and Kevin "nWo" Nash.

Wolf Cop - low-budget low-brow horror-themed comedy.

Cat People - A Val Lewton horror classic for people too snooty to appreciate the Universal monsters. The film is beautifully shot but it always bugs me every time I watch it. Because the moral lesson seems to be "weird foreign girls can't be trusted, marry the all-american girl you work with". The "villain" of the film is treated like trash the whole time from the ostensible heroes.

Curse of the Cat People - My first time watching this, it's not really a horror film, but it was marketed like one. (In fact iirc the name and marketing materials for the film were made before the script.) A direct sequel to the first, at least the moral of this film is less repugnant. The message here being "Hey maybe don't neglect and be a jerk to your kids just because they don't fit in."

Bugs Bunny Shorts - "Transylvania 6-5000" and "The Abominable Snow Rabbit", classics.

Geez, what a way to ruin an awesome holiday. F**kin' weather... Well, stay safe out there. And it's not the 31st yet so you might still get to participate in Halloween  :)

This might be a good watch for the occasion.

They actually manage to make the creepy moments work, in spite of it being a parody.
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

I am thinking what to dress up as this year. I like original and relatively simple costumes, but have no ideas really. Maybe movie characters could work...

Nosferatu The Vampyre is probably the most underrated Dracula film of all time and perhaps the greatest!

Great choice. I'm going to have to watch that again soon too!
