Righty-o, you're in for a treat. Unified Pictures and Digital Frontier are teaming up for an American-Japanese VHD tv series done in an hour long episode format. It's currently in the early stages of production as far as I'm aware. Kawajiri-san himself is on board, on the Japanese side, so this new, upcoming D really does take D's design in Bloodlust and just tweaks it a touch, as far as the comic goes. As they had to hand the previously unreleased in English short story Message from Cecile which they really liked but knew they couldn't get it into an episode, they decided to turn it into a short 5 issue comic witth Stranger Comics. They kicked off with an awesome KS that just the other day saw the digital bonuses for backers released, including a pdf advanced copy of the comic., which has its own KS variant covers. It's out in physical form on the 16th of November. It's GLORIOUS. You can sign up to the newsletter via Vampire Hunter D Resurrection (one of the pictures for which is by Amano

The main guys invovled in the comic are Brandon Easton, Michael Broussard, Christopher Shy, and Kurt Rauer and Scott McLean are involved too. The comc had Kikuchi-san's blessing, which is great. What I'm really liking is that they're really aiming for, as befitting the setting, an East meets West feel, with the look somewhere in between American and Japanese. So far, they've absolutely nailed this feel. D is both strong Western hero and Japanese bishie prettyboy. I'm loving one of the covers for issue 2.
I still haven't stopped bouncing off the ceilings, or come down from cloud nine since my digital copy landed in my inbox, along with seven free wallpapers (when four were promised), the script, and coming at some point a VHD Pathfinder rpg suppliment. This comic is amazing, it nails the VHD universe so far, and it's already making the series look rather promising, if this is anything to go by. Plus, the team behind it really are listening to the fanbase on fb and on the KS page, and connecting with us.
I'm really sorry guys for not mentioning this earlier! Tbh, I had actualy expected most of you guys into VHD to already be aware of this. Mea culpa. *Looks sheepish*
