Classic and Metroid. The God of War ones don't feel as mechanically solid.

It's all about the classic. Kinda like wanting pizza but getting chicken.. It's still good, but it's not as good and it's NOT what you wanted. Everything else is something the original fans were forced to adjust to and settle for in my humble opinion.

All of Them.

I've come to accept every evolution the series takes, I'm certain there were fans arguing over SoTN not being a Castlevania game due it's drastic changes to the series, some in which are more extreme to the ones we get with the LoS games.

I went with Metriodvania and Classicvania option but really I don't care. It could be the CV rpg for all I care(which I personally think could be fun) I just want to be a Belmont in a huge castle killing monsters.

Both Classic and Metroidvania for me. Though I do enjoy the Classic format more. LoS has shown me where the series should not go in terms of game mechanics.

I like them all. There are times when I want to just play straight through a game, like Castlevania 1,3,4, or Rondo of Blood and times when I feel like leveling up and equipping items and I'll play Symphony of the Night, and when I feel like I want to just get really involved in beautiful scenery and music and I'll play Lords of Shadow 1.

If I had to pick a definite favorite, I'm not sure. I guess, classic then, Lords of Shadow, then metroidvania only because sometimes filling out that map and checking every nook and cranny seems like i chore and I just want to whip stuff.

The whip..............it was unique and different, Kid dracula for the PSX, was kind of an overkill. About the Metroid experience, it can be done, but only as a side dish, like in DXPCE.

MoF HD really was unique, as it combined the 2d side scrolling classicvania along with exploration, inventory, & warping of metroidvania.

its easily my favorite of the entire LoS series.

Hi everyone. New guy on the forum here. I always thought that the classic concept and gameplay of Castlevania was cool back in the day of the NES and SNES, but the reason I truly became a fanboy was SOTN and its metroidvania successors, so my vote goes to that style. I never played LoS, nothing against that spanishvania stuff but I never had the chance to play the game.
Stuff I like: music, films, literature, comic books, videogames and Doctor Who.
