Hi, I've been checking out the fan created stuff and came upon some broken links/deleted content here:
http://www.castlevaniadungeon.net/Media/cva2.html

Anyone know where else I can find these if you don't host them anymore?

You can always PM Jorge about those dead links. He might be able to help you.

Jorge's Stuff: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9B5DED584DFDA586 Download links in the comment block.
Tom Kim's Midis: http://www.vgmusic.com/ You will have to look up the game and then look for the tracks he uploaded.
JILost: http://www.mp3olimp.net/jilost-castlevania-adventure-2-ripe-seeds/ This is the only track I can find from this person.
Thomas Koessler: Has nothing left online from what I can tell.
Zero Slug FM: Also has nothing left online.

That is the best you are gonna get. Those files are old and have been missing for ages. So out of the entire section you will only find about half the materials still active.

There are probably much better quality mixes of the same songs by now though so just look for a different mix of the same tracks I am sure you will find something much newer and better.

Thanks for the links, but I was looking specifically for these remixes because of the FM synthesis aspect - I was working on one of my own (see below, Mega Drive sound chip) and wanted to see how someone else went about it.

You may want to go to newgrounds and ask around in the audio forums those guys are always making original tracks using 8bit and 16bit instruments. Unless you have a really really good ear you are probably going to want to go with some kind of presets or a sound pack of some type so finding someone over there that can help out might be the best option.

As far as the tracks that were here unless someone had a copy and can re-host them again you may never see them.

What software are you using for this?

Oh I'm pretty happy with how mine turned out, did it in VGMM 1.1 (VGM Music Maker, a MD specific chip tune tracker) by ear which took a while. I used instruments from Castlevania Bloodlines and some other games. I'll probably try something more modern using a vst next time.

Still I'm curious how those Zero Slug remixes sounded since I love those old FM chips (they used one of them for Castlevania Rebirth's OST).

Yeah I think a vst with something like fl studio is probably the best way to go but not the only way.

I did have one of zero slug's mixes in my collection but only one of them. I have walking on the edge the stage 4 track from cv1 I can re-upload it when I get a minute if you are interested in that one.

I don't think I have any other mixes by him though. I thought I had them since I have pretty much every piece of cv music around but I guess I only grabbed the one I needed at the time.

Anyhow when you get ready to do some mixes using a vst pack go on newgrounds and ask some of the other guys making chiptunes if they have any good recommendations for a pack to use. I am sure it would be the fastest way to find what you want.
