Nice taste in games, Yuki! If you need some help, hit me up. My friends and I are still playing fairly regularly. Gamer Tag: The One Nation. My hours are pretty all over the place at work, so if I don't respond immediately, don't fret.
Thanks haha :3

Oh i see you added me:).

As ive read some char guides, i see the best is to stick to Soma, and change my char if i want more challange.

I am atm tryting to get Valmanway, so it would be great if you could help me with that :)

I plan on buying DLC, probably soon after getting my first Valmanway, mabye start recording some gameplays to when i get a bit better haha. :)

A little tip before going into hard mode as either Soma or Alucard.

Save up for the Laevatain (or however you spell it) that becomes available in the shop after beating normal. It's that fire sword that does multiple hits.

Probably a very good weapon til you start getting into the rare drops.

On what char is it the easiest to get the best gear? (no DLC chapters) ive been trying to get the Valmansomething for a while now but im getting so unlucky with drops:( and when i checked my items rarity i saw that i only have two 5 star items, one was draculas coat that i got yesterday and some different armor.

And sadly most ppl only play few CH6 on hard and then leave :(

Valmanway is only obtainable (without DLC) on Chapter 6 (or 7 if playing the PS3 version) with Alucard and Soma, through gold chests.

The nice thing with Soma is that you can farm certain souls and buy certain weapons to make your initial grind less hectic. Fire Demon is a good soul for new Somas, and the RPG is pretty nice, too. Buer's good for added coverage. Once you get a Claimh or Valmanway, you're pretty much halfway to Uber Soma. My Soma's pretty strong, and I almost never play him (Belmont guy, myself).

Alucard is a bit different. With you, the Yatsatsuna's are fairly good, but his best equipment is found in the DLC chapters. He just doesn't seem to be as good with Valmanways as Soma, but they're still good weapons for him.
Defeating evil: Apparently easy.
Defeating the Lord of Darkness with a whip and some water: Damn.

Every time I see this topic, I think, "Oh hey, I know LOTS about Harmony of Dissonance! Maybe I can help." Then I see posts about Alucard and Soma as playable characters and remember what's up.  :(

I've been trying for a Dracula's Tunic for freaking forever and can't get it to drop...  I can solo Drac easy on hard with Soma, but no luck yet. Its one of the last items I need in the game.

This. Same here. I'm tired of using Death's Robe with Soma and Alucard. It's not a bad piece of equipment, but I've heard Drac's Tunic is better.

For Alucard, you'll probably want to farm 11 Hard the most for Yatsatsuna +1's and Murasame +1's (I think that's the name of it). Those are probably his best weapons. Mind you, Chapter 11 on Hard is no joke, but the rewards are good. You can also farm 11 on Normal for Thief Rings and an Ebisu Raiment to make your farming a bit easier. Also, 7 Hard will possibly drop Miser Rings, which will drastically increase your attack if you've got alot of gold.

For Shanoa, all Chapters help her a little. 7 can give you the Robe Docollette, 8 can give you Globus, 9 can give you Acerbatus, 10 can give you the Cerberus heads, and 11 can give you Lumanatio. It's hard to recommend a great setup with her, but that Robe is probably her best armor.

Hope that helps a little. See you online.

I got twin Vals and I find Ancient Armor to usually be better than Death's Robe in hard mode. I also have 2x Thief Rings, Ebisu Raiment and Royal Crown for luck gear.  For some reason Dracula really hates me and doesn't want to drop his tunic :(
