Topic: Swap Magic V3.6 Question

I'm thinking about buying the Japanese PSX version of SotN that came with the game, artbook, and CD, but I need to know if the Swap Magic thing that lets you play imported PS2 games will also let you play import PSX games on an American PS2. This is what I am talking about:

Well it says in the instructions it allows you to play imports or backups.

Do you think that includes both PSX and PS2 games though? I think it should work, but I'm not entirely sure...

Im sure that if anyone has it they could tell you. From a few sites that Ive read, its only for ps2 games. Though it is said you can play ps1 backups but you have to have the original disk aswell. I dunno, just read this and maybe it will help http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/454485

There's a CD-ROM version as well as a DVD-ROM version from what I've heard. Since SotN is a CD-ROM, you'll need a CD-ROM version of Swap Magic.

But the link I posted does say that it also comes with the DVD-ROM and CD-ROM versions, right? So everything I need is in that link?

Um... Swap Magic only works for Playstation2 games.  It does not work for Playstation1 games at all.

But what DOES work is Breaker Pro.  $30.  Plays Ps1 imports/burns on Ps2.

It's what I use to play Gradius Gaiden and Sexy Parodius.

yeah i own Swap Magic V3.6 and its great for booting ps2 burned game but don't boot psx game but theres other boot discs out there that will boot psx games on a psx one sys and  ps2.
so look around to make sure you get one that boots on both sys

and the cd rom disc of Swap Magic is for ps2 games that on cds and not dvds.
believe it or not there alot of ps2 game that are put all on a cd
