Oh God.. 500? That's steep. Vampires Kiss / XX has gone upwards of 500, but for a tiger I'd say gtfo to the seller. He's playing SOTN with the luck glitch, I'll give him that.

The other ones that were sold recently on eBay went for around $100 US.  But they didn't come in the box nor was it factory sealed.  Seems to be an interesting collector's item at this point and nothing more.  I buy some retro games (hell, I bought Castlevania Bloodlines for $50), but thing is I only buy the ones I have interest in playing (like Bloodlines).  So, obviously I'm not the target audience.  Then again, I wouldn't even buy just the handheld since it's just a curiosity and besides which there's a better version... on various platforms... that isn't a crap LCD game.

Those things hardly ever show up on ebay.  I don't know that I've ever seen a sealed one on ebay, although somebody here had a sealed one in their collection.  $500 might be a little steep, but I don't think it's completely unreasonable.

Just be exceedingly careful with factory seals because (a) you technically don't know what's inside and (b) certain video games and related items weren't necessarily factory sealed. There have been cases where people have bought a plastic sealer for 30 bucks and sealed those items in order to try and increase their value.

I saw a "sealed" version of Zelda ALTTP for 1000 dollars a while back over ebay and I had my doubts. My copy never had a plastic seal though this may have varied for PAL / NTSC distribution.

This one (in the link from the OP) should be the real deal though, looks great and clean. These hard blisters were 'sealed up' by heating up 2 pieces (top and bottom), and you can clearly see the result with the jagged lines all around the packaging. Every copy is slightly different because of this process.

Once you break a hard blister open, good luck using the same broken blister to make a new sealed blister (I'd say it's near impossible). Any broken hard blister will be hell to fake back as brand new unopened.

I think $500 for that Tiger game is pretty ridiculous and this is coming from someone who spent $60 on DraculaXX back in the day. I kind of wish they had a Tiger game emulator, it could be fun playing some of those games, but paying $500 to do it doesn't sound like a good move to me. I'm not necessarily a collector though so ymmv.
