I figured threads like this were ok here.
Simon is definitely my favorite. Dat strut, the whip controls, swinging, his anthem, he's just all around awesome. Not to mention most of the games he's been in have been excellent.
Richter gets an honorable mention for his theme and item crashes.
-
Richter. He felt like the most progressive in terms of mechanics, but even then, he still retained the weight of the older characters, compared to say, SCVIV Simon whose jump was lot more looser. Plus, his game was pretty poppy and vibrant, which was a nice contrast to the other titles. AND HE WAS BLUE.
though i guess personality and outfit-wise, it's simon because he is literally everything now anyway
-
Simon and trevor, but even if cvIII got me into gaming Simon took the cake heck I got a wall scroll of Simon.
-
Simon hands down. He was the first I got to play as and also comes with some of my fondest CV memories.
-
Trevor. Trevor is awesome. I've always liked him.
-
For me it's gotta be Richter.
To me his 2D sprite is the most anatomically correct in contrast to some of the other Belmonts, such as CV4 Simon whose legs look like blown up sausages. Plus Richter has that neat stance that gives off a sort of high adrenaline atmosphere which is appropriate in the post RoB games with all those crazy slides, kicks, and other various momevents. Not to mention he can run. For me that was revolutionary for a CV playable character and made his playthough in SoTN so much more worthwhile. As mentioned earlier the solid blue in his outfit is appealing to the eye. His overall mechanics vary through the different games, and I'm comfortable with the fact that he can only whip in one direction for the item crashes and special moves substitute quite nicely.
In regard to his roles in the storyline he is a far more dynamic character than the others mentioned in this poll. In SoTN we get to see a darker side of a Belmont we hadn't seen since Soliyu. Richter seems more human because he's fallible and succumbs to the sort of evil he vowed to stand up against. In RoB he is faced with the conflict of both saving his beloved and others while fulfilling his duty to his clan by slaying Dracula. So many things can go wrong in RoB resulting in him going home emptyhanded. It seems Richter has more weight on his shoulders which helps his character feel more well rounded in contrast to the others.
Some people may enjoy a basic character such as Simon because he's often linked to the idea of the classic fundamental roots of the series, but I prefer Richter because his many features and is less one dimensional.

Definitely going with Richter here.
He was the first to reveale the item crash ability and also his badazz backflip.
Definitely the most stylish and badazz of the belmonts if you ask me.
Trevor and Simon are both a very close 2nd and 3rd.
-
Call it nostalgia, or familiarity, but; Simon Belmont
I guess it helps that he starred in SCVIV and that game was AMAAAAAZING.
-
Simon is the Man, has kicked Dracula's ass aplenty. He is my pick even though Trevor stars in my favorite game.
-
Richter I save only girls Belmont.
-
Sonia Belmont. She got no real love from Konami or IGA so us fans have to help her out somehow. But before Sonia even existed my fave was Simon. The Conan-ish Simon.
-
Simon is the only Belmont with the distinction of killing Dracula, then gathering all his parts just so he could do it all over again.
-
The Simon of Belmont.
because of this
Simon is the only Belmont with the distinction of killing Dracula, then gathering all his parts just so he could do it all over again.
-
Chronicles Simon.
He's so boss, he got bored after killing drac, so he brought him back just to kill him again.
-

And let's not forget he did it that second time while slowly dying from a curse.
Julius is probably the 2nd most bad-ass Belmont, since he's the one of the only 2 Belmonts to appear in 3 canonical, separate occasions (the as-yet unreleased 1999 battle, AoS, and JoS) and still kick ass at his venerable age. He's like the Christopher Lee of Belmonts. Richter gets an honorable mention for Rondo, SotN, and his memory in PoR, but he's a villain for most of SotN, and more-or-less a cameo in PoR. Simon's also appeared several times, but only in 2 canonical games/non-remakes.
-
Hey, you forgot Soleiyu!
I voted for Christopher because my love for Game Boy titles often leaves me painfully-biased.
-
Hey, you forgot Soleiyu!
I think its because we can only vote in the playable ones, but this guy says the truth, Soleiyu needs a chance.
Voted in Sonia.
-
Soleiyu was sarcasm, it really would have been nice if he had time to shine though.
I always hoped for a GBA or DS remake that combined both The Adventure and Belmont's Revenge, but all I got was ReBirth. :-\
-
Simon, dat CVIV whip action.
-
Simon. He had to fight his battles alone. Trevor is my second favorite, but he had the help of Sypha, Alucard and (my favorite) Grant. Simon beat Dracula once. Then he trekked across the countryside dealing with lying townsfolk and a curse to put Dracula back together, just to kick his ass again.
What did Richter do? Let a 10 year old do all the heavy lifting and then get brainwashed. Real hero there. ;D
-
Richter - the guy gets to save four girls (even though Alucard steals one of them, that creep >:( :P ;D ;) jk), gets a cute sidekick, and can take Dracula down with just a key. DXC was also the first Castlevania game I played.
If I could, I would also pick Sonia cause she hot and I think she should be in another game that recons her (her, not Legends) back in the main series.
-
Simon, FTW!!!! 8)
-
I voted for Richter, though Simon is a close 2nd.
-
Sonia all the way!
Girl Power!
And I really liked the fact that the Belmonts are united with Dracula by bloodline.
It should have been not decanonized.
I usually loved everything IGA did, but this one I did not.
-
Simon Belmont will win this battle. :)
He killed Dracula (he did it twice!) but never told us anything. Not a single word.. I like that part of his.
-
No one beats Simon.
-
Forever Live Trevor!(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.castlevaniacrypt.com%2Fgames%2Fmof%2Fimages%2Fmisc%2Ftrevor-01.jpg&hash=54a6daa8e28d2e5df6625bc04a1ba601)

I'll put one down for Trevor. I liked that he was "the Belmont" among a larger cast of heroes with different abilities. More story to him than Simon.
-
Sonia! She defeated Dracula first (no arguing), and she did it without subweapons, only a whip, a sword (counting the box art here), and her own powers from within herself.
-
Simon Belmont! Like, Da! I mean, he is the Belmont in the first game, after he defeated Dracula he did not stop there, and searched the area until he found all the body parts of Dracula, revived him, and killed him again in an attempt to end the curse, and he just fu**ing awesome! I mean, if you were in a castle full of evil monsters, deadly spiders, the Lord of Death himself Grim Reaper, and the Prince of Darkness Dracula, would you not be afraid?
Not Simon Belmont! he can moonwalke like he is in a middle of a Disco dance, he does not have to whip only in one direction, he can whip in all directions!, And do exercises with the whip! in fact, he does not have to whip at all: he just might hold the whip and the enemy is dead! he is just fu**ing awesome!

Oh it gets better than that.
The guy's also gone punch for punch with Optimus Prime, helped defeat Mother Brain, and started using Dracula's castle as his own personal skateboard park.

Besides, the Boogeyman may checking his closet from Chuck Norris, but Chuck Norris looks under the bed from Simon Belmont!
and this is simon's pet (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1rHtDTX1bc)

Sonia, with Simon as close second.
I mean really, she was the only female Belmont and one of few female protagonists. Also, for some god forsaken reason I actually liked Legends. Then again, I was playing on an emulator and just so happened to be savestating like it was the bloodied apocalypse. Yay my 1337 haxor skillz.
-
Welcome to the dungeon, I like Legends too.
-
I like Legends a lot, largely for the story but also for the gameplay, but I can't really see needing to cheat in it. It's a fairly short game, easy for a Classicvania, and has a password feature.
