Topic: who do you think George Lucas should have gotten to write the prequels?

The PT is a very engrossing and entertaining jaunt but I think most will agree that the script is not up to the level of the other ones and there is room for improvement. If anybody could have written the script for GL would would yall pick?

I'd go with Douglas Adams. Based off the great success of his novels and his unique way of storytelling that feels really down to earth I think he would have written some damn good movies. He is also insanely good at implenting just the right level of comedy into the situation to enhance the already established fantastic atmosphere.

Hey, "Army of Darkness" was god awesome. Don't dis the Raimi trilogies.

Unless it's Spiderman, but that's because 3 was supposed to be two seperate movies and the combination fucked the story up.

I never heard anything about Spider-Man 3 originally to be two movies. Where'd you hear that?

It does, however, have far too much going on, and Raimi hates Venom and didn't even want him in the movie. He was forced by the studio to have Venom, and that forced the movie to go all downhill because I don't think he was trying too hard.

Anyway, I wish the Star Wars prequels didn't exist. They should have never been created, and all three of them are simply dreadful. I just want the original untainted trilogy, on Blu-ray, with a really freaking nice transfer, without any of the special edition crap. Robert A. Harris has even offered to restore the films for free... They could make a fantastic 1080p AVC transfer from that.

3 was the best of the prequels, if only for the fact that Grevious was a semi decent stand in for Vader. infact he WAS the best thing about the film considering how they murdered Vaders character at the end!

I was obviously referencing the Spider-Man trilogy, which progressively got worse with each film. If we're talking Evil Dead-era Raimi on the other hand, then the prequels would've been BETTER than the originals.
