Yeah, exactly, a movie like FFVII:AC would be great.

However, I really think FFVII:AC is NOT a film everyone can watch, as it is hard to understand for a person who has not played the game first.

But an animated CVIII or Bloodlines movie (or even LoS, eh - well, I did a movie with LoS footage too) would rock if well set.

The Complete version tells the story better in a way a new fan could understand it, but even then, it'll come across as weird.

But still, a CGI Castlevania movie would probably be better. In the case of Resident Evil, I much preferred Degeneration to any of the live-action films, and Damnation is shaping up to be pretty good-looking.

Howabout just "No Chris Nolan".  :)

I think he's overrated. He's done some good movies, but I didn't like Dark Knight Rises as much as I thought I would've(thought it was the weakest of the trilogy, which oddly enough, I like in order of their release). Inception didn't blow me away, either.
He's the best director of his generation and he's just starting. Also he has shown a good deal of respect for the source material whilr still completely understanding what makes a movie work like a movie, also he doesn't make you feel like your neurones are dying without being boring or pretentious. And don't get me started on how spot on he is for casting...

So yeah Chris FTW.

And I also support the idea of a CGI film made by the LoS trailer guys.

Watching AC Complete I was left wondering why that extra shit wasnt in the original movie to begin with, considering it clarifies many things, makes certain transitions more sensical, etc.

According to Square, it was because of deadlines. You know how they like taking their sweet-ass time with things (coughVersusXIIIcough).

Is Versus even still in development? I've yet to hear a single word about it since forever. Then again, I don't really follow the FFXIII spin-offs.
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

Then Lords of Shadow 2 just takes a big, semi-solid, smelly, pea-green dump all over everything.

They just announced last week via Twitter it was still on. WHY it's still on after taking 6 years I haven't the foggiest.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

Maybe they're still having second thoughts about making a FF that's considerably more "mature", so to speak.
I dunno about the fan demand, but it's gotta be high enough that it's still on.

I actually think it's problems might be due to the scope of the game. Nomura has hinted that he's trying to achieve full scale world map, and just recently Wada made the remark about how blown away he was in seening one of the cities in a recent weekly conference. From the footage of the 2011 trailer, some of the landscapes seen look near size to Xenoblade Chronicles-caliber. If they can achieve that on HD(which other FF heads like Kitase and Toriyama said cannot be done), it would be a big achievement for the series. FFXIV aside, FFXIII(and FFXIII-2) were mainly linear games with little to no exploration(at least not to the extent of some of the classic games). Re-introducing a huge explorable world just might be the next step in the series' evolution. I mean, if Versus can pull it off, there's no excuse for the next FF(FFXV) to not, at least, aim for that standard. Reverting back to linear pathways/limited freedom of exploraion is a step back in comparison.

Okay, let's get back on topic.

They should go the Ace Attorney route for Castlevania; Make it as campy and close to the original video game as possible, that's how videogame movies SHOULD be. I would pay good money to see Simon whipping walls for pot roast and tossing axes at Death on the big screen. It would be a movie that only takes itself as seriously as it has to, and it would be right up Konami's alley for their goofy and lovable reputation.

Or they could post some person's playthrough of one of the longer games. Cheaper than hiring actors, that's for certain.

LOL that just gave me the best idea ever, throw in like a 5min legitimmate intro, like with previews of other newer movies etc. Upload it to youtube just for the purpose of going over to my friends house that have Apple TV. Have them sitting down with there food cause there a bunch of fat asses (lol not really, well sort of actually yes) ready to watch a movie. The intro passes and you see Simon Belmont running through the first stage, by the time he is half way through they probably will finally ask "Dude, wtf is this?" then I say without laughing "Its great, it gets better guys just watch". By the time stage 2 starts they are like "WTF is this?" and thats when I probably won't be able to hold a straight face and its blown.

Okay I am trying this, now to find a downloadable playthrough of a Castlevania game preferably a older one.

Rickrolling for a new generation. I love it.

I still don't know how this was ever greenlit (the most popular response during the pitch probably being, "Castlewhat again??"). How could anyone think this would make money? The concept still kind of baffles me. Not to beat up on the franchise or anything, but it just doesn't seem to be a prominent enough name to evoke anything better than apathy from moviegoers.

Just...a Castlevania movie?? I mean, it still sounds so bizarre.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

I think most regular most moviegoers would already be turned off by the title. It has to be said that "Castlevania" is a pretty dumb name.
