Thanks for your feedback! We've contacted the person who composed the soundtracks to share your general thoughts. Hope the game goes well when it's fully prepared.

It's super good with some of the best pixel art around. I consider the team lead, Danilo Dias to be a borderline genius. This is a nice little tech ninja game that sits comfortably next to Cyber Shadow from a couple years ago.

I should specify it's more like Mega Man X than the classic MM formula.

If Mega Man meets Strider sounds appealing to you, with a touch of Shinobi III and Contra: Hard Corps, then pick up Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider by JoyMasher. They did the excellent Blazing Chrome and Odallus: The Dark Call and I'm really liking this new game of theirs.

General Castlevania Discussion / Symphony of the Night Interview w/ Jeremy Bluastein
« Last post by Dongled on January 12, 2023, 08:16:59 AM »
Hey everyone, welcome to 2023! Hope you're doing well. Today I have for you an interview I did with Jeremy Blaustein, the translator/localizer who worked on Symphony of the Night. I learned a lot of new information about the creation of the english script...how Lord of the Rings and Vonnegut inspired things like Legion and some of the weapons and items in the game...as well as the official confirmation that Malreaux's "What is a Man?" line was directly used. We talk about how little Konami was involved in the translation in addition to the time Blaustein was given to translate the entire game (3 months!) It's a pretty cool interview filled with lots of stuff that's never been revealed as he's never been specifically only interviewed about this game, his second work with Konami. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iJm5ZrkIxE

unless you wanna write the code yerself  ;)

There are so many times I'd like to see something done that nobody's working on that makes me think, "I should learn to code."

After watching this new vid, I definitely feel that the game could use actual musical compositions rather then the presented J-pop it's currently relying on. That's one of the things that made games unique back in the 80's and early 90's was their compositions. Just listening to game music back then made them very interesting and engaging. Sadly this has been replaced with generic J-pop sounds that leave very little to the imagination. A good composed soundtrack would go a long way to help to flesh out this game.
