I really enjoyed Ys II Chronicles as well, Ratty :D Not to self-advertise, but I did a blog post about it a while ago you may like:

Shinobi 3DS. It is an evil motherfucker, except for the boss fights which are pretty predictable after a few retries.

Also been playing the DS Resident Evil 1 port. Does anyone know if this game has been made easier somehow than the PS1 version (outside of the 180 turn and knife mapped to L button)? Cause it sure seems like it. Did a *mostly* knife-only run with Chris.

I've been trying bits of RE: Revelations as well. I'm just not feeling it. It suffers from RE5's problem of trying to be RE4 but not as good. The Jill parts don't really understand what made the old games good, and the Chris/Parker parts are just "run around, blast a few guys, repeat".

I've been playing Dungeon Defenders as of now. It's pretty good though the bosses suck.

I bought Mario and Luigi: Dream Team for my 3DS. First Mario and Luigi game I've tried and its enjoyable to a point, but some of the mini-games you have to sit through just to do special moves and to defend against attacks are starting to become pretty tedious.

I loved that game. One of the best co-op experiences I've had. Got several characters completely leveled up. Haven't played it in a long time though. But yeah, most of the bosses are just especially big baddies, but it makes you have to all work together as a team to beat them while holding off the horde.

I bought the Wolfenstein pack on steam while it's 75% off so I got Wolfenstein3D, Spear of Destiny and Return to Castle Wolfenstein for less than four bucks. What a steal. Been playing Wolfenstein3D with the fairly new ECWolf source port and having a blast. FINALLY Wolfenstein3D with WASD controls in 16:9!

My friend stumbled across an old Elvira machine. 'Nuff said

Which one? She's got at least 2 I think. If it was this one you can show your friend this
Bally Scared Stiff pinball promo video featuring Elvira

She's also got a platformer and 2 cRPGs. Mostly on the Amiga iirc.

I recently picked up a discounted GOTY copy of Borderlands 2, and I can't pretend to regret it. It's the first time in years I've gotten hooked onto an FPS title -- and coming from a genre skeptic, that's an achievement.
