Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance

- "Hardgame" mode
- No equipment; armour, accessories, whip tips etc
- No Spellbooks
- Relics activated
- Only attacks are the standard VK whip and a subweapon

The game is much more challenging as bosses especially as well as regular strong enemies can kill in 1-2 hits even at the end of the game.

I've made it up to the true final boss, though Maxim is proving extremely difficult to best.

picked up the Killer Bundle 6 and gamemaker's bundle at bundle stars, which came with the 3drealms classics, so I'm playing some badass DOS classics.
Halloween Harry is STILL good, loving the blast from the past.

Re-visited Castlevania The Adventure Rebirth hard mode with better dolphin emulator (powered-up 5.0 version with 64-bit OS support) in my laptop and it sucks as always. The frame rates still drop at the "crushing wall" traps in stage 3 and I had no idea. The Grim Reaper was fairly tough, not to mention the whole damned stage 5 in hard mode, but he's cool. Also the laser attack reminds me Grolla/Raimund's super Desperation move in Rosenkreuzstilette Freudenstachel and the super Desperation move of Masked Demon/Death in Castlevania The Lecarde Chronicles.
Stage 4 succubus route in hard mode was living hell, so I chosed to get two keys to open the alternate path. The Golem boss must be defeated with one life from the checkpoint after alternate path entrance or you'll get sucked (The time players were given was too short if players die at boss fight and continue with next life)
Dracula was also tough to hell, but I love Adventure Rebirth

Played Castlevania The Adventure and Belmont's Revenge with emulators. The music was great, the games were too tough to beat that I must set emulator's save states during boss fights, but I was very satisfied for the amazing quality that they gave players at that time.

Also involved in PC versions of King of Fighters 98 UM and 2002 UM because I can use boss characters to kick some stuff, unlike original versions

Psycho Soldier on PS3 bought from PSN, the US version has a woman who sings in a painful on the ears voice. Shame they didn't use the Japan revision, where the woman's voice there is far more soothing and doesn't sound like someone stepped on her foot while she was singing.

I've just completed Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance on 'Hard game' mode.
No max life/ mp/ heart-up's collected, no whip upgrades, no armour or accessories worn (aside from the essential JB/MK bracelets which boost zero stats), no spellbooks, standard Vampire Killer and subweapon only.

The game was not so difficult, but fighting
(click to show/hide)
was frikkin hard. I ended up using the bible the entire game and switching to Holy Water for that battle alone. I still like the game a lot but will probably never have reason to play through it again, unless I want to finish Maxim mode which is much easier.

Juste mode is actually easier as he has a working inventory.

I've been playing Halo 3 for the first time since before ODST got released. So many memories -- it really is my favorite single player campaign of the series, though ODST and Reach came pretty damn close with interesting and witty casts of characters.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

If you're equipping the best armour and inventory etc then yes, but otherwise I call bs. Maxim has broken moves, stronger attacks, two attacks which offer invincibility for a number of seconds (one which can deduct close to 1000HP from enemies) and a triple jump. Juste without spells or armour is weak compared with Maxim, and can not run amok in the Castle the way he can. If you need an inventory while playing as Maxim you're not doing it right.

Re-visited Castlevania Chronicles and this time heading for a no-damage run of US version or a  speedrun (To surpass WR is hopeless....) Or just give up if can't record a vid properly

The RNG is crazy when affected the sickles summoned by Death RANDOMLY. Not sure if there is a staple way to finish Death without being hit

If you have the boomerang with the triple shot icon then it shouldn't be too tough to knock out the sickles as they appear. And at the same time, score hits off Death.

I don't think I could even do a no-damage run of Castlevania Chronicles, especially due to Death (as mentioned) and that pit in the final level.

Destiny
Despite all of it's flaws, I still find it really enjoying, especially with a few friends.

Destiny is one of those games I have always enjoyed because the mechanics are just so satisfyingly executed, but the story and level of content left a lot to be desired. As of House of Wolves, the content problem went away. And as of The Taken King, almost every issue I had with the storytelling was addressed.

I wish there was an in house way of rewatching cutscenes though.

Destiny is now so superior to almost every other online shooter out there it's ridiculous. I love it when people try to compare Battlefront to it -- there's no comparison to be made at this point (and given EA's recent DLC announcements, there will NEVER be a comparison to be made).

Destiny was underwhelming at launch, but holy hell if it hasn't delivered on a lot of what was promised -- it just took longer than we expected.

I miss trading Mats for Marks though.

Finally started Fallout: New Vegas...I think Fallout 4 coming out made me realize that I needed to play NV already. It's just been sitting on my shelf ever since the release date.

Liking it...only 1 corrupted save file so far!  :-X
