well love sotn beat it so many times. well got me a nvidia shield and have a 73" tv so wanted to play games like the psp Dracula x on it and ultimate ghost and goblins. did that so said lets move on to a game I never played but for 30 minutes on my pc.   sega saturn's nocturne in the moonlight and just got in the 2nd castle and really would had like to know word by word was said in that fight and the rest of the game. sure most is like the Japanese sotn but for it not having the fight with Maria. but never read that trans nether lol play through psp version long time ago can't stand the change in Alucard's voice so only played once and don't remember the lines from it. any help would be nice. thank you.

also the psp games play perfectly on the nvidia shield but the sega saturn nocturne in the moonlight is very hard to play :( if anybody is wondering, it don't want to load 50% of the time then when you get to playing I have to use save state every few minutes just in case it freezes. then load it back up also bad thing think the save state makes the sprites in menu disappear (also some in games sprites as well) so can't use the menu :/ have to save at a save point and load game from it so you can then change anything. but it's still playable. I know I should just play on my pc sure the sega saturns emu on pc work great but want to play on the 73" anyway like I said 2nd castle like these running boots :P

NitM on Saturn is a travesty of a port.

yeah it sure is not as good as the psx one, but just like that ugly girl down the street she does things that your pretty girlfriend don't :P and it fells good....

to run though the underground garden fight the skull knight and go though the cursed prison get them run shoes even fight Maria she was a little hard if I wouldn't had the fairy on screen I would had died. hell I did die lol she pulled out some card and I got a one up to keep fighting I don't remember that in sotn but never really died in sotn so maybe had it idk.

anyway it has it's problems but it's worth playing once just to see the new stuff. only other time I got to run though the underground garden and cursed prison was when I made that gamemaker demo sotn deleted scenes lol with no bad guys and even more buggy game play lol wonder if anybody remembers that :P that was forever ago may have been 10 years lol oh well still love to read nitm script if anybody knows of a url.

What the hell

even if that was a legitimate analogy it'd mean nothing because the extra content from the Saturn port is all trash with the exception of Skull Knight and Run Boots

that is your right to value it as trash but I still enjoy the new stuff not to say it could ever come close to my love for sotn but still cool to run though this once that's all i'm saying. kinda like playing the cdi Zelda games I hated so much about them but still enjoyed playing them instead of never getting to

It's actually pretty slick when you're playing Maria Mode on a ShieldTV and the high-powered HD emulator kinda undoes all the slowdown of original low-powered hardware.

but I guess people are still gonna bitch about muh transparency effects so w/e.

Myself and many others enjoy the extras in the Saturn version. I personally like the run boots, rainbow robe, alucard spear & and the underground garden areas. The extra music is REALLY good as well.

what HD emulator are you using? I am using UoYabause and the guy on youtube did say bin files worked better than iso so might be why it keeps freezing and only load 50% of the time.
but all that I can work around

SSF was the best emulator for running SoTN on Saturn.

NITM is very awesome and better than PS1 SOTN and even DXC SOTN.

even though PS1 SOTN is more polished, NITM's pros and extra content more than make up for it.

I'm a big fan of the Saturn version, myself.
I have a Saturn hooked up just for that one game, haha.

But I really should try to find Panzer Dragoon games... >_>

even though PS1 SOTN is more polished, NITM's pros and extra content more than make up for it.

I do like that it strives to be more than just a simple port. Like "we could just take what already exists and move it over, but system limitations would lead to that being inferior. So what can we do to offset those deficiencies?"

So they tried to add some stuff. Maybe it only added 30 to 90 minutes of gameplay with the new areas and items, but I like that they added a whole new playable character and then made an effort to edit the Richter sprites that the original game used so that he's actually wearing the clothes he's supposed to be wearing in the game (and does wear, briefly, when you see him in the Arena in the PS1 version).

The execution of the altered sprite is... mixed, to put it charitably, but I can at least appreciate that someone in a development position noticed that continuity error and tried to fix it. Their hearts were in the right place throughout, at least, and it doesn't diminish the PS1 version in the slightest.

So I find it difficult to get worked up about how one is objectively horrible. Nocturne is definitely heavily flawed, but I wouldn't rank it anywhere on a list of Top Ten Worst Castlevanias. I've played Vampire Killer MSX and Haunted Castle. I've played Legends. Castlevania at its worst is a whole lot worse than Nocturne in the Moonlight.

WTF is up with that tree monster though. It looks like it came out of Bob Ross' worst nightmares.

How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

Sorry, I am not sure about that. I only know it’s available on Windows PC. SSF was great as it removed all slowdown and increased the game’s frame rate.
