Konami, push more CV on steam!

We have the Los games, which is great, but seriously... Konami is leaving big budget gaming, moving to smaller PC and mobile games, so isn't this the time to offer classic CV, even Contra or Gradius on steam? Especially now with how popular old school style games are. Hell, look at all the metroidvania on steam too! SOTN alone would be easy money (find it strange they ported it to XB360 and not PC). Yeah, people emulate, but there'll definitely be people coming to support them. They could even put Konami collectors series CV&contra compilation up. Plus, we need Adventure RB on a better platform, like seriously lol.

Just what I thought.

The Rebirth series, not limited to CV Adventure Rebirth, all should have a better result and reception than they could get now
And it's a shame that the system engine of Adventure Rebirth can't get a proper way to further expand its usage. Castlevania Chronicles'  system engine (PS1 port) also suffered from no further usage

There really is no reason why Classicvanias and Metroidvanias aren't on Steam. Licensing emulators can't be THAT expensive compared to all the profits you get in exchange. Hell, porting the XBLA (or better yet, PSP) version of Symphony of the Night alone is a recipe for quick and easy cash.

A lot more could've been made out of the ReBirth engine, like a BR remake or even a Legends one(wouldn't happen cus of cannon). In terms of popularity, the game just couldn't strive because it was WiiWare. I'm sure it sold moderately well but if it was across all major platforms, or even exclusive to a distribution like Steam, it would've been more successful without a doubt.

I feel like Chronicles was hampered by it's late release and dated design (especially after how SOTN revolutionized the series and stared a genre). I think it's a great game, but any CV coming so soon off the heels of SOTN was destined to not do well.

Ikr? Companies do it all the time nowadays on multiple platforms. Plus they already have a compilation developed for windows already, which makes me scratch my head further. Plus they could capitalize on Bloodstained. Now wouldn't be the best time since Bloodstained's steam has run off for now, but once there's another substantial update or once Bloodstained comes out, there's another great opportunity yelling at Konami.

Iga: Bloodstained is coming along fine, here's an update on what we're doing and what more the game will offer.
Konami: Tons of people want this game but it's not out yet, let's release what it's based while the demand for it is at it's highest.

I love Chronicles, especially the arrange version which I realise I'm probably in the minority of those who love it.

SoTN just had that artistic and crisp elegant finesse and level of detail and exploration that CVC was just never going to be a standout being released on its heels. SoTN is a difficult game to rival even today. CVC is still attractive to me, especially in design and music but its visuals are slightly forgettable. It's almost a merge of SCIV and Haunted Castle... Or something.

I also liked the arranged version as well. I felt the music fit the areas, and even if the game itself was older, it all worked out. But what I didn't like was Simon's forced-on sexchange  :P  He was fine as he was  :'(

My only real gripe with arrange mode is Kojima's Simon redesign, but giving the fire effects a realistic look was interesting! Plus they did give an arrange mode instead of just porting the game, which was awesome. I prefer classicvania, I still prefer SOTN over CVC, so imagine how disappointing people who were introduced to CV with SOTN were at the time.

It at least got OK reviews, where today if a similar situation happened it would be panned across the board and tons of poeple would lose their job.

Admit it: Harmony of Despair would rock on Steam.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

After they rebalance it, of course. As it is I wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole due to how horribly unbalanced it is.
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.
^^
You are now reading this in Robert Belgrade's voice.

Then Lords of Shadow 2 just takes a big, semi-solid, smelly, pea-green dump all over everything.

I would really like to see Adventure Rebirth get a wider release than just WiiWare.  I passed up Harmony of Despair the first time around, but I could see myself playing it on Steam.
