(Alucard runs toward Dracula and drives his sword through Dracula's heart. Dracula screams out in pain)
Alucard
Go back whence you came!
Trouble the soul of my Mother no more!
(Alucard pulls the sword away, and Dracula falls to his knees, blood spilling from his wound. He grips his chest, defeated. He breathes heavily, in agony)
Count Dracula
Impossible... how...
How can this be...
How is it that I have been so defeated..?
(Alucard sheathes his sword, and kneels down before his father)
Alucard
You lost your heart, your soul.
You became blinded with vengeance, and that was your undoing.
(Dracula weakly chuckles at his son. He looks at him, with a weak smile on his face)
Count Dracula
How poetic...
So... I tragically sacrificed all I held dear... in this mad quest for power...
"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world...
but loses his own soul..."
Matthew 16:26...
Alucard
Father... even after all of this...
I know that Mother will find it in her heart to forgive you.
Count Dracula
Forgive me..? No... I understand now.
(Dracula drops his head)
Leon... it has taken me so long, but I finally understand...
This is not the path I should have taken...
(Dracula once more looks at Alucard)
My son... please, tell me...
What... what were Lisa's last words?
Alucard
...She said, "Do not hate humans.
And if you cannot live with them, then at least do them no harm.
For their's is already a hard lot."
And... she also said that she would love you.
For eternity.
Count Dracula
I see...
(Dracula looks toward the sky)
Lisa...
I can never atone for what I have done...
I... I am sorry...
(Dracula faces Alucard once more, and with a warm smile on his face)
My son... Adrian...
It is good to look upon your face again.
...Farewell.
(Slowly, Dracula fades away. Alucard slowly climbs to his feet as he watches the final embers of his father fade into obscurity. Slowly, a tear falls from his eye onto the ground as he speaks his final words to his father)
Alucard
...Farewell, Father.
Believe it or not... I will miss you.
(Alucard fades away into the blackness as well. Slowly, the castle in the sky vanishes, and we see on a cliffside Richter and Maria, as they watch Castle Dracula once more crumble to the ground. The sun shines upon its remains. They hear footsteps behind them, and turn around to find Alucard standing there)
Alucard
So you made it.
Maria Renard
Alucard!
I'm so glad you're all right!
Richter Belmont
It's over, huh...
Forgive me. It's my fault you had to fight your own father.
If only I were not so weak, none of this would have happened.
Alucard
Worry not.
I had my own reasons for facing him.
You are not to blame.
Richter Belmont
Even so, it couldn't have been easy.
Alucard
Indeed it wasn't... but it had to be done.
There was no avoiding it.
And remember, the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
Richter Belmont
I understand.
(The three of them stand together, looking upon the ruins of Castle Dracula.)
Maria Renard
It's over... things can finally go back to normal.
Alucard, where will you go from here?
Alucard
...The blood that flows in my veins is cursed.
It holds naught but ill fortune for this world.
I suppose it would be best for this world if I were to once again disappear.
Maria Renard
Disappear..? B-but...
(Alucard looks on toward the ruins of the castle. He still once more feels remorse)
Alucard
...I must bid farewell to my homeland once more, never to look upon its beauty again...
And to you two, as well.
Take care of yourselves.
I'm afraid we will not meet again.
(Alucard turns away from them, and begins walking away. Maria steps forward, wanting to say something, but nothing meaningful comes out)
Maria Renard
(quietly)
...Alucard...
(Richter stands beside her and places a hand on her shoulder)
Richter Belmont
What are you waiting for?
I know you want to go after him.
(Maria looks to Alucard leaving, then to Richter)
Maria Renard
I... I'm sorry.
But... I just can't let him vanish like this.
I have to at least try and talk to him...
Richter Belmont
Then don't waste any more time, Maria.
Hurry after him.
If there's anyone who can ease his pain, it's you.
Maria Renard
(nods)
Thank you, Richter.
Farewell.
Richter Belmont
And yourself, Maria.
(Maria turns away and begins running after Alucard, and slowly the screen fades, and the credits begin to roll)
