I'm not holding my breath for anything new, let alone anything new that's decent. But it would be nice to finally get the DS releases and Rebirth. I also think it would be cool to see 64/LoD, LoI, or even CoD in HD.

Honestly a modern remaster of the 1999-2005 3D games would be awesome. CV64, Legacy of Darkness, Lament of Innocence, and Curse of Darkness all prettied up as much as possible, a few rough edges sanded down, and available in a single set would be a lot of fun to revisit.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

Unless there something officially announced, I stopped caring about these rumors.

VGC has recently done a podcast on this, but they've once again argued that sometime this year, Konami will announce the MGS3 remake and a new Castlevania game. They're reporting around E3 time might be the window these get announced.

Unless Kojima himself is supervising the MGS3 remake then I don't know if Konami will be successful with it. And as a PS2 game it still holds up fairly well in terms of design and playability. Nothing wrong with the graphics getting a bit of a boost but that's as far as they should take it. But Castlevania itself is a whole other matter. Nothing said or done with it yet so I can't comment anymore then I already have.

I've always thought the original MSX Metal Gear should be the most obvious first pick for a remake. I think that original entry has aged really poorly in many aspects, as opposed to the much more polished sequel. Also the ending of the most recently mainline entry, V, crosses over with the events of the original Metal Gear.

I loved MGSV, I would not mind if they picked up where they left off with the Fox engine and continue where MGSV ended. Kojima is gone, but if Castlevania has taught us anything, people other than the original creator can take over and do great things in their own way.

Having the original MSX MG remade is something that I would also be interested in too. And given how the game plays it definitely hasn't aged well. While Kojima is gone that doesn't mean Konami will be successful in doing a proper MGS3 remake. Look to MGS Survive for reference purposes. To me this shows Konami's incompetence to treat these games with the proper respect we the fans feel they deserve and is also a slap in the face to the games' creators as well as the fans. In the end it's all about turning a profit and not respecting the games for what they are. Konami's got a long, long bumpy road ahead of 'em if they ever want to win us over.

I hold no hope towards all these announcements until there's anything truly good which hits me so hard. My heart really dies after all these years.

I'm not expecting anything worthwhile. Konami has been shit for a long time now.

Konami's acknowledging fans' desire for more Castlevania than what they've been dishing out, but still coy about if anything substantial is actually coming.

We're really scraping the bottom of the barrel these days, huh?

It's been so long since Konami put out anything worthwhile, that I'm not holding my breath anymore.

I've been able to satisfy my Castlevania itch with Bloodstained, Blasphemous, and the various fan projects and spiritual successors that first appeared right here in this forum.

I'd love it if Konami got their heads outta their collective asses and did something good with the IP.
And if it were up to me I'd buy the rights to Umbra of Shadow and just make the damn game.
I'd also do a new reboot of 3D games with something more of a Souls-like flavor to it.
However, my expectations are about as low as could be.
