Entering this as it is, because I don't think I'll be able to complete the original plan (which was a very large representation of the Sephirothic Tree with boss characters representing each branch) before the deadline.

Jop -- Even colored (at least colored the way it is) it still seems a little confusing. I don't know much about spriting yet, but I wonder if you could do something similar to the original coloring, but do a different monochrome-color-scheme for each legend? I think the monochrome was fine except the whole image seemed to blend together...so maybe dark shades of gray for one, purple for another, etc.? Again, I don't know, and this is all a post-judgment judgment that wasn't asked for so...sorry! Just my two cents.
