Red Dead Redemption 2.
I was a huge fan of RDR- one of my picks for best game of last generation. Naturally, I was really hyped for RDR2... but after about ten hours in, I'm actually not liking it at all. The production values are insane, and the landscapes are probably the most amazing I've ever seen in a video game, but the actual game itself feels too passive. I feel like the game never requires me to make any meaningful decisions or tests my skills. I feel like most of the time I'm watching a cutscene, listening to dialogue, pushing the action button to advance the mission, and little else. Even the action parts, such as shooting, feel passive because the auto aim is so incredibly accurate. Even though I'm pushing buttons, it feels like hours pass without me having actually done anything... it feels like watching a western movie that occasionally requires you to push buttons to further advance the super linear missions.
I don't know if I'm going to give this game any more of my time. Ten hours should be enough for the game to pick up, but its still not clicking with me. Oh well.
