Anyone else here really excited for this game?

Im a really big fan of anything that plays even remotely like the old school Vanias so im always happy to see more. It makes me so sad that the genre hasn't really taken off like the Metroidvania style has.

With the Curse of Moon games being the only exception, Classicvanias dont seem to get much love. Aside from Romhacks and fangames the genere is basically dead. But this project is (In my humble opinion) so much better than all the other stuff out there at the moment.

If anyone else is interested, the developer Programancer uploads new footage pretty regularly on his Twitter. Most of the stuff is really good.

This Medusa fight is awesome. https://mobile.twitter.com/Programancer/status/1426590841657872388

The Hive is so different from most stages in any classicvania.

Look awesome from what I've just watched! There are some funny moments in the script which I think is a good thing. It helps it stand apart from your typical RPG. I did like the final part of the intro; 'a frustrated Simon decided he should piece Dracula back together to kick his ass and reclaim his lost glory' haha! So this isn't about destiny, it's about how someone beat Simon to the punch and he's feeling rather sour about it ;D  The graphics look pretty good as well as showing off the day/night cycle. I find much of what I'v seen here is what Castlevania II could have been if they put more ideas and development time into it.

I eagerly await this game's completion.

The humor is pretty good for sure. I like that Stan Helsing looks like a generic Belmont but isn't the player character.

I remember seeing this around before. It's nice to see something like this with a sense of humor, helps make it unique.

This game has the best Graveyard Duck joke I've seen yet.

EstebanT@

I just read that segment of the game's development. Why. Why did he choose to stick in one of the worst segments of Battletoads?! The turbo tunnel?? No. Please no. Anyone who's played Battletoads knows how the turbo tunnel segment was botched in terms of programming. I'd tell the creator myself but I would have to sign up to do so.

One of the earliest memories I have of my life is trying countless times to get through that damn tunnel and never being able to pull it off. Battletoads was one of the first games I ever owned but I never got past that part of the game. It ruined what was otherwise a great game. I replayed those first two levels countless times, but I could never get past the tunnel segment.

Also, great pixel art to whoever is responsible for the art in that game. It looks great. Also, I dig the honey comb level, predictably for nostalgic reasons (I <3 DKC2)

LOL. That new enemy is straight from Super Metroid; Spore Spawn. Lovin' the retro-look they did for it though  :D

I have been following the game for about three years now and can’t wait to play the final version!  If it wins the TheGDWC, he said he would post a new demo, so um, please go vote for it!
