Ahh I wouldn't worry too much. This is just media sensationalism blowing shootings out of proportion because this comes on the heels of the theater massacre, and it sounds from the headlines like a school shooting. The guy was in his mid 30s so not likely that he was a student like the media wants to twist this, it was just someone being evicted from their home who decided to put up an armed resistance to the eviction. Unfortunately a lot of civilians and cops got gunned down. Sadly not too out of the ordinary in such a down economy.

Even when the economy was up and nominal things like this were still going on, though not being reported as much as they are now. The problem is the people's current state-of-minds which has long-since been ingrained into them over the course of American history. Many lack the necessary education in which to deal with problems properly and humanly. And many others just don't care. I could go into other reasons why but that list would be too long to print out and we all know that  :P
