@Uzo:  It definitely was a tough decision!  I think I said somewhere...either in my general comment or one of the specifics...I spent two whole days talking through it in great detail with my wife, just trying to get somewhere with my decision!

@Dracula9:  Good grief!  How much closer can you get with that?  I can practically see his pores!  Keep zooming in and that meme won't work as well! ;-P X-D

Punctuality matters just as much as a well-worded judgment. The holiday weekend is excuse enough all on its own, but personally I'm rather surprised. I've never seen uzo be this behind on something.

It's only day #3 also Shiroi also mentioned something about a week or 2 at the most for him being late.

On a side note, the next contest is up now.

It should be a much lighter and easier tone than the previous months.

Oh, I know. Life gets priority, of course.

But you guys set a specific results day and it's three days past that. Late is late. The holiday weekend justifies it, surely, but trying to talk it down as anything but lateness is a bit annoying. I'm a contest judge over on SI and the only late posting I've made so far was declaring a contest open fifteen minutes after the designated time (quarter-after midnight instead of one minute after). Maybe it's just me taking the role too seriously (which is likely), but I think that a set date should be upheld.

This contest is completely understandable, as there are a bunch of really great entries to pick from, as well as the holiday tie-up. I'm not contesting the justification for the lateness, because as far as I'm concerned it IS justified.

But downplaying the situation isn't necessary. Sure, I and everyone else wants to see the results, but the wait's not really a problem. And knowing uzo, he's likely been dissecting each sprite meticulously to make his judgment, so his scores will probably be detailed and very to the point. But don't give him a half-joking week/two-week deadline when he's already three days late. He'll get it done when he gets it done.
