An all time great manga artist, and an all time great character designer, as Son Goku is among the most recognizable images in manga, and his DQ monsters gave the same impact in the video game realm. His blue slime is the most iconic, and a perfect example of how he can turn a super generic DnD enemy that's been done countless of times into something that is clearly and uniquely his own, and recognizable around the world as so.
There will never be another like him.
Toriyama's work has influenced me as well, as the character Iscariot in Carpathian Night is partially inspired by Frieza.

Big RIP. I have so many fond memories of reading articles on Greg Werner's old fansite, endlessly debating plot points with my friends in middle school...it was pretty much my childhood. RIP indeed, Mr. Toriyama.

We can add another one today, Tarako Isono, voice of Chibi Maruko-chan since it started, as well as Magical Taruruto-kun, age 63. Apparently she died on the 4th, and I feel as though her death will be overlooked due to Toriyama's passing.
