Title: any surprise Halloween releases this year?
Post by: Reinhart77 on August 25, 2025, 03:35:29 AM
getting close to Halloween and there's no peep on anything Castlevania coming out.  no signs of a Nocturne Season 3, a 3D collection or anything else.  we're due a bone of some kind I'd say.  maybe just another cameo or perhaps one of the N64 games coming out on Nintendo Switch Online.

Perhaps a Castlevani-themed skin for Fortnite or confirmation on a release date for Nocturne season 3, otherwise I’m not anticipating any other major announcements

I hope "this" isn't the only fall surprise for this year.  Good for people liking to collect games on GOG though.

I reckon there's definitely going to be two more collections, one being ReVamped GB games (with Adventure Rebirth as the bonus title). These may be released more slowly over time, then collated later down the track; one with the 3d games, with what I hope will be a ReVamped Resurrection, similar to what Nintendo did with Starfox 2 for the SNES Classic Mini.

Cool.  What do you consider "ReVamped"?  I'm not familiar with the term as far as how it might differ from a remake or a remaster.  You're hoping that putting two of the GB games in the Anniversary Collection and releasing Legends in a Nintendo Switch Online doesn't mean that they're done with those titles.  I'm guessing by ReVamped, you're thinking something much closer to The Adventure than ReBirth beat-by-beat, but still a step up in gameplay and graphics (perhaps more like Haunted Castle Revisited?).  Perhaps a Castlevania The Adventure ReVisited?

Basically this. I'm thinking they'll likely be a remake of sorts, potentially like Adventure Rebirth, which doesn't sit exactly with the OG, but rather follows the stage-by-stage formatting of the ClassicVania's.
