So, yes, I know...this is brand new info and we still don't know who she is...but she certainly seems inspired by Sonia Belmont. I wonder if they're going to shoehorn Sonia back into lore somehow? Doubtful, but we at least know it's a female protagonist this time around. She seems to be affected by something with her hand...which I wonder if this is the curse the game is referencing? It actually makes a lot of sense for Dracula to curse the one thing needed to destroy him...a Belmont's hands. Thoughts?

I definitely think they're gonna retcon Sonia as Trevor's daughter rather than mother. Her appearance is already close to Sonia in Legends, so why not? But I suppose we'll see.

Whether she's called Sonia or not, she is not that Sonia ofc. They just wanted to recycle the female blonde Belmont because women protags sell more or something. Konami can't afford to lose the 500$ they invested on this game!

I’ve got a theory that this character could be the ancestor of the Morris Clan. She herself is a Belmont - however, the whip seems to be only usable down a male line of the Belmonts. Perhaps the messed up hands could be a result of using the Vampire Killer Whip when not considered its true heir? Kinda messed up, but a thought ha. (doesn’t explain why both hands seem effected)

My hope is they dodge the topic entirely and/or give her a little brother who can't fight yet.
It's not up to Evil Empire to tackle such a troublesome topic as the Belmont's succession rules / vampire killer blood pact functioning. It's too important not only for the cousins but also for the clan disappearance after Richter and later the emergence of Julius. Also Soleil getting his powers and seemingly the whip in a special cerimony.
The curse in the new game must have an evil origin, the Morris never manifested such a thing.
It's probably inspired by Simon's Quest.
