Title: Fact of the Day Thread
Post by: CVfan13 on June 23, 2008, 04:56:24 PM
You know those little facts on the bottom of a Snapple cap? Well, I just read one I feel I have to share with the members of this forum:

The first human-made object to break the sound barrier was a whip.

A whip. How about that? The weapon of our beloved clan of vampire hunters was the first human-made object to break the sound barrier. Interesting bit of info.

Snapple teaches us something new everyday. That and I learned that fact in my science class in 8th grade. :P

of course it was a whip how else would humans break the sound barrier before there was any transportation besides horses?

Its not the whip itself that does it tho its the thin cloth string on the end does it when you crack it.

I can't see this topic going very far or lasting very long myself, as most of you already knew that and alas so did I.

(and i actually think the thread that breaks the sound barrier on a whip is called a fall.)

I therefore propose we turn this thread into a "fact of the day" thread.

I'll start.

The planet Mars has two moons: Phobos and Deimos
These are greek names that mean Fear and Terror.

next..

Hank Azaria, the dude that makes the voices of Apu, Snake, Duffman, and many others on The Simpsons, made the voice of Venom in the Spiderman animated cartoon series which ran in the mid-ninties.

AND DID A DAMN GOOD JOB!! He was creepy as Hell.

My friend got one that said all the even numbered snapple facts were false...but it was an even numbered fact.
If you can solve this paradox, you win a prize.

he is AMAZINGLY talented. Not only with voices but acting period. Most ppl would probably be shocked for someone to point him out in a movie and tell em just exactly who he is.

Still love him in Mystery Men the best tho =D

I did not know that about Hank... and certainly didnt think he did snake/Apu

as for English police carrying guns im not so sure about that. Dont see your everyday coppers running around with them but after the london bombings i deffinatly saw them hanging around the train station in Leeds where I live with what looked like Mp5's
