I was just playing CoD's Trevor mode and I decided to aimlessly run through Cordova Town (because I absolutely looove that place) and I came to the V-shaped room, well, street thingy, and I fought an enemy called a Duke Mirage. I'd only seen this enemy in the Tower of Evermore, but never in Cordova Town. I re-entered the area several times, but no Duke Mirage, just the normal Dead Barons. What are your thoughts on this?

If you enter the save room and exit several times, there is slight chance of encounter a Duke Mirage. It's the same like the Golden Bones trick on Bahjet Mountains.
-
Oh, alright thanks for the information. I didn't know about the golden bones in the Baljhet Mountains.
-
Yes, I believe it has 5-15% spawn chance to replace some of the enemies there.

At the last save on Baljhet Mountains, before the boss where they are three skeletons, just enter the save room and exit several times, until instead for the three skeletons you see a golden bones.

The chance of seeing a Duke Mirage in Cordova Town or a Golden Bones in Baljhet Mountains is 1 out of 100.
But considering that many people have to kill 1000 or even 3000 evil cores to get a miracle egg; you're much better off farming the GB. And on the other side of the coin; if you need to farm Duke Mirages, you're probably better off in Cordova Town...instead of going through the tower of evermore multiple times.

Thats really funny cause i just walked in the room and there it was! i didnt even need to try to see it. i bet if i actually wanted to see it again in cordova town, i never would. lol

Y'know, the Golden Bones was probably the only skeleton type enemy in any Castlevania that I actually found neat. Except for the skeletal creature in Rondo.

He's totally gay for Baljhet (broke-back) Mountain.

Sheesh, I can feel the love... ::)
I think Cordova Town rocked, both music and mood. It was a definite flashback to Castlevania III.
And Baljhet Mountain was the dumbest stage in this game. The music was cool, the boss...HAD potential to be cool, but the stage itself was dumb as can get...

Cordova Town was the worst stage in the entire history of the series, only partially saved by a pretty cool song.
The level was likely slapped together on a lunch break. It's clear the chair room there had much more careful attention to detail and even a better layout. :P
Cordova was an absolute snore -- there's hardly anything there to kill even! It's right around that point that marked the darker, more boring end of COD. The first half of the game is much better planned and executed.
For a village, it was remarkably boxy. Though it's probably true most villages of the time were drab, I think they'd have a little more architecture than THAT.
More points lost for no interaction at all with rooftops or multiple tiers. The only elevation change was a couple of stairs.
Sheesh, I can feel the love... ::)

... yeah, cuz CV3's town was flat, uninspired and a cakewalk.
-- WAIT -- no it wasn't.

Antraxx, I combined your last two posts.
Trying to catch these as they come people, but this isn't forumplanet anymore. If you double post, the posts don't combine into the last one.

I knew this would turn into a CoD bashing thread.

Thanks, Clara.
I didn't know until it happened. Hopefully that feature comes back soon, though.
Best stage for me was Garibaldi Temple -- especially the second half. Probably the prettiest CV chapel yet.

I liked the Eneomaos Machine Clock Tower along with the Temple. I think it was all the diversity within it. At first, it starts off fairly dark, then seems more garden-oriented - Garden Forgotten by Time, except not quite to that scale. Even with the Dual song thing, just as the Garden had For-Enshrouded Night Scape, the Temple has Garibaldi Courtyard. But what sealed the deal for me was the grotesque underground. It was done very well, and was truly pleasing as a foil to the beautiful temple above.
Trevor Fight was cool too, but mainly because when he says "It cannot be." He shook his head in a very sexy way and did that whole eyebrow lifting thing! :P
