Title: Most Powerful Good Non-Belmont Character
Post by: darkwzrd4 on July 14, 2008, 07:11:31 PM
In my opinion, as things stand in the series, Alucard is the most powerful good non-Belmont character.  Sure, Soma has potential, but that is all.

Hector, but where is Nathan Graves? I know he isn't on the timeline but he is awesome.

After a long period of deep and complex thought over this (10 seconds - heads or tails) I've decided to say Carrie. Tails was Alucard.

Soma. Power of Domination. Of course, he'd be even stronger if he succumbed to Dracula's soul, but then he wouldn't be "good" (as opposed to "evil").

Much as I love Alucard, I voted Soma.

Soma. Obviously. Next maybe... Yoko, or Alucard. Wait, what can Alucard do anyway besides using a sword and shapeshifting? Yokos spells kikk ass. Even though I don't really like her much, she's really strong.

OMG, I really posted into this thread.

In regards to Alucard, he's more powerful than we think.  Besides, he has centuries worth of experience.  Don't forget about his blood healing ability.  In theory, if he made it rain blood after casting Dark Metamorphosis and wearing a blood stone, he would pretty much be invincible.  Add the Muramasa, the blood thirsty two-handed sword from SotN that grows stronger with the more enemies that bleed are killed with it, as well as a ring of varda or two, and he would be completely unstoppable.  Then again, any individual who is either a vampire or of vampire decent would fit in to this.
As for Soma, as I said before, he has potential.  The fact is that the power of dominance right now only acts as a defense mechinism and he looses the abilities he absorbs once he is completely out of danger.  In all honesty, if he could make it so that he never lost the abilities he absorbed, then over time he would gradually become more powerful and likely eclipse Alucard in terms of strength and power, but Alucard will always have the most experiece aside from Hecter that is.

I would have gone with Soma because he was the obvious choice but then I decided Alucard.  Maybe because I believe while Soma's ability is powerful, it just seems overall, that Alucard is more powerful: changing his appearance, having some of the same powers as his father, being kickass in general...

Cornell. Why? Because his Man-Wolf power was sufficient to allow Drac to rise with his full power. What other character's power could be used in that way?

Ada's, which allowed an even more powerful version of Dracula to rise. Which didn't make any sense at all, but hey.

isn't hector human? you'd think he'd have more appearances if otherwise.

Yes he is.  However, I would think that if he was one of drac's most powerful minions, he would have been given some sort of eternal life so that he could serve drac for eternity.  It's just speculation though.

She's freakin powerful.
Technically, she is a belmont through marriage.  Not that she got married, but her sister, Annette, married Richter Belmont.  So that would technically make her a Belmont.  Then again, I don't know if Annette actually married Richter.  I heard that she did, but there is nothing to confirm it.

uh no, maria and annette aren't related. that was only the case in dracula xx, and even iga himself said they aren't in the canon.

but that said, maria is a distant belmont relative like the morrises or reinhardt according to the manual.

Oh. Yeah, I forgot about her. She's way more powerful than Alucard, IMO.

I would actually change my vote to Maria if she was on that list.

Yeah, I guess I just like Maria too much. But still, I've never felt more powerful than I do when I play as Maria. Except in DXC SotN, then completely f*cked her up, IMO.

Of course, not all vampires are strong. Infact, if you've ever played Castlevania 64, you'd know vampires can be real push-overs.
