Ive been kinda worn out on the ds castlevanias and have wanted a new 2d metroid for quite some time. Then I ran into this game and boy was it a breath of fresh air. Please watch the trailers, get the demo, get it if you like the demo. It's a download only game but 30 clams may seem steep but you are getting your moneys worth. 25 - 30 hrs gameplay, and a level builder to create your own worlds. Please check this out!!!!

I don't see how this is could be a place holder for Metroid2D, more like a Ecco the Dolphin for 2008.
The graphics look nice, though.

I played Aquaria last christmas. It was veeeery pretty and atmospheric, but also a little...hm...empty.
I wish they'd release the game for Xbox Live Arcade of Virtual Console or something. Then I'd give it a new chance.

I remember playing the demo quite a while ago (perhaps it was too around Christmas). At first it seemed kind of interesting, but I didn't even get through the demo before I got tired of it (the demo was pretty lengthy though, so have a go at it). I think the main thing for me though is that there's no platforming, cause you know.. you swim.

Yeah, it looks a little empty. Almost boring. But then the battle against that nautilus looked pretty cool.
