What's the deal with that giant eyeball in the Marble Gallery. Is that the Peeping Big that we fought in HoD? Or is it the castle itself?
Are there any background stuff in the games that you wish you could interact with?
-
I never thought of it as a Peeping Eye. I just thought it was placed there to make the rooms looke extra freaky and bizarre. If anything, the first time I seen it, I though, "Twilight Zone!".

Peeping Eyes outside windows are a tradition.
-
Did anyone else think that was going to show up as an awesome boss later on?
I did. >:(

It's an homage to Castlevania Akumajo Dracula X68000, where the eye is in a window and comes inside through a hole in a window later on... only in SotN it seems to be a huge eye in the far background.
Somewhat referenced, in HoD, as the "Peeping Big", and in DoS since the peeping eyes (and the upgrade versions; the "Bugbears") are much larger than normal.
-
I also recall in AoS, there was a peeping eye that stayed outside the windows but followed you
-
there was one in hod too.

In fact, there is one of them staring at you right now, from your bedroom window. DO NOT LET HE KNOW YOU KNOW IT, DO NOT TURN AROUND, YOU JUST KNOW IT

peeping eye is watching you masturbate.
-
thats one of my favorite things in SotN. I remember ten years ago the first time I played it and that thing freaked me the F* out!
-
It's a homage to the giant eye you fight in RoB.

What gives you that idea? It's just a random tradition that was started in Castlevania X68000. Even RoB has a Peeping Eye behind a window in stage 2.

That's a Dogether. I don't think they count as the same monster... though they're probably related, what with the one eye and everything, lawlz.
-
When I first saw it I was expecting it to come through one of the the windows so I could fight it.

In the X68000 version, it is perched in the window opening of the next room. :o
In Rondo it just follows you from the outside.
In HoD you see its silhouette but you can tell it's that one.
