awhile back i thought neca was refining their sculpts, and that the figs would be out in august (got that from bigbadtoystore) but i havent heard anything about them since, even a email to neca went unanswered.
has anyone heard any news about these?
-
All I can say is that the original lineup sucks ass and I'm never buying another NECA toy. There's no reason for the final product to be so bad. McFarlane Toys these are clearly not.
-
I bet neca cancelled production to cut their loses from 1.0 and that they don't really stay on one franchise too long. I mean most of their license properties last only about two waves. There has been exception but that depends on how well sucessful a series is.
Although the NECa figures I have purchased are tmnt and He-man, I don't think one should judge NECA as a bad company just because of one toyline esp it might be the fault of the factory and not NECA personally.
Both the heman and tmnt stuff are really good and are on par with with Mcf probably because how the two were sculpted by former mcfarlane employees
-
Ugh, I'm still in line for the original NECA figures from amazing toyz.
-
I am just glad I got my set last year. I actually like them. I had a feeling these would be hard to get after a certain amount of time, and from what I remember not all of them shipped even if people had an order in.
-
I got the whole set including closed mouth Dracula.
Apart from my dropping alucard a few times and smashing his hair off and breaking his scabbard im really pleased with them, they look nice ( and a little bit of glue sorted the hair out for those of you wondering )
-
My Succubus figure is all borked up. The legs aren't far enough apart to fit on the platform it comes with, and I tried moving them outward, but now there's a big crack in one of the boots and the issue is still unresolved. :o
Simon's sheath busted off. Screw that.

In a way they kinda are McFarlane figures. These were sculpted by the Four Horsemen guys who left McFarlane & worked on the new He-Man figures. I think most McFarlanes suck anyway, once you take them out of the package. They look great, but stand like shit and fall apart. Import Japanese figures will be much better.

Only Alucard and Dracula were sculpted by them.

if anyones wanting to part with their set, awful as it may be, let me know.

The figures are out and being sold by Play Asia.

Thankz for lettin us know since I am goin to order Alucard or Simon now (which ones should I get first?)
Bigbad seems to have the preorders sold out which may indicate that they are gettin them soon
-
how come the shippings 30 dollars for the set from play asia? anyone know? i hope big bad gets theirs soon.

That is expensive. If that is the case, probably better to get the set from cornerstorecomics/amazingtoyz since bigbad is sold out on preorders and csc is usually cheaper; I have shopped at both places before and though bbts is usually more expensive than other online outlets, the customer service is excellent. From personal experiences, if you receive a toy from them that is defective or is of a different product, you either get a replacement if the toy is defected/something breaks once you remove it from the package for no additional cost or can keep the toy for less than website price if they sent you the wrong item.
As for amazingtoyz/cornerstorecomics, they are my favorite since their toys are usually cheaper than anywhere else and shipping is affordable.

I bought the Succubus and Dracula from play-asia last night and shipping was $16, it was for both of them together, not 16 each

Interestin'. I might get it at playasia even though shipppin is more than the other places. Also, let us know if the figures you get appear to be different than the ones ppl bought and posted pics of since I am dying to know if they changed any sculpts.
I might get Succubus instead because other than her sex appeal, she is one of the rarer figures? I want to get ones that are hard to get first so I can finish the set; planin buy a few at a time.

Hey guys and gals, man it's been awhile. You all beat me to the punch; I was going to mention that Play-Asia FINALLY got their shipment of CV figs in.
I just ordered another set because I am a total glutton, and because these really do look like new sculpts according to the pics on Play-Asia's web site. (Succubus looks really pale now, and they fixed Alucard's hair!)
Hopefully more local retailers will be getting theirs in soon like the aforementioned BigBadToyStore and Corner Store Comics, but take heed and order these when you can, because there's no telling how hard they will be to find again. I was lucky the first time around......
Maybe this means there could be a series 2? (Please!)

is the shipping for anyone else from play-asia so high? for me its 37.00 ems, which brings the total for the 4 figures to 97.00!
i have had all 4 figs on preorder from bigbadtoystore since jan, i hope they get them in, but im not sure if i wanna take the chance..
-
I ended up biting and got both Simon and the Succubus. Shipping was like $14 altogether through air mail. EMS shipping is really expensive even for small stuff, so naturally it's going to be huge since the packages are so bulky.
-
well i too bit the bullet and ordered all 4 from play-asia. on a good note regarding their customer service, when i emailed them about shipping they changed my order to airmail for 27.00, which makes the lot easier to bear.
i had wanted to wait it out with bbts, but when i emailed them about the figs they didnt know when or if they would be getting any in, that it was up to the manufacturer-and they hadnt been told anything. the fig preorder page for bbts keeps changing to available, then to preorder closed, then back again. and it has a release day of oct 08.
-
I got my Simon and Succubus in today. Man Simon looks ridiculous. I took some pictures but I don't think I'll be taking them out of their packaging. I'll see about putting them up with the next update, whenever that is.
I'm tempted to use the coupon to order Alucard and something else, since they're still in stock.
-
simon looks bad? i havent recieved mine yet. i hope he looks like he does on play-asia's site!
-
i wonder how these figs compare to the ones released last year? different sculpt? etc?
-
well mine came from playasia. these are great figs, very heavy and detailed. even alucards coat has detail on the inside, a very nice pattern.
the figs seem a little different sculpt wise/color wise from the promo pics on the side of the boxes. and i could do without alucards flyaway collick.
next id like to see trevor, richter and maria (original anime dracula x style)
-
How long does it usually take to get things from Play Asia? I ordered mine on the 27th of October and still don't have them, just wondering if thats normal
-
well i ordered mine on the 28th, and used air mail which is their slowest shipping available and recieved it this last saturday. which shipping option did you use, where are you located? and then theres the posability its in customs..
-
hey, i finally got mine after waiting 6-9 months at Amazing Toys and had given up on ever getting them. one day before Judgment comes out. go figure. anyways, now i don't feel like i'm missing a modern U.S. piece of Castlevania. i guess to make my collection complete, i'll need to get the original pixelsimon on ebay now.

You'll have to get BOTH versions of pixel-Simon. One that was available at SDCC '07 and the other (CV II ver.) when you pre-ordered Dracula X Chronicles...
Also don't forget that Neca Dracula has two versions: open mouth and closed mouth. And there is the "invisibility potion" Simon chase figure.....to complete the set!
Now, come on Neca, give us a series two!!!!
-
Yeah, I said I needed the original Pixelsimon because I already have the one that came with Dracula X Chronicles.
Hmm, two versions of Dracula's head, I think I'm close enough.
What do you mean by "chase figure"? Is there another Simon that's exactly the same except he comes with an invisibility potion?
Yup, I'm all ready for series 2.
If I wanted to go for imported models, I would need the Judgment Simon and the Judgment Dracula that will follow that.
I'm not sure if I'm ever going to take the models out of their box, they don't look like they'd stand up too well.
Has anyone ever seen one of these models at a retail store, or is the only way you can get them through mail order?

Unfortunately, I don't think we're getting a series 2...It really sucks for those of us who actually like them
-
does the revised simon have the shoulder pad because a friend got him and he is missin that
I would be upset if NECA started to stop givin the fig that part since the pad was a suggestion I made to them so long ago
