Ok, for those of you who have OoE, we know that Dominus is a set of three glyphs created using Dracula's power. Also, when you fight him, he uses the abilities you get from "Dominus - Hatred" and "Dominus - Anger". However, he isn't damaged when he uses them, but Shanoa does. Is he unharmed because it's his own power, or is there some other reason?

yep Iori is right of course if i lend a powerful thing your not trained to handle your own you could get hurt, but i on the other hand uses that with full fledged control it won't hurt a bit, since i mastered it and i have the ability to control it. remmber that shanoa is only a vessel for dominus i guess barlowe is the USER itself XD (IMO)

Something to ponder:
Perhaps what ultimately kills the user isn't Dracula's power, but the way it's packaged in usable form for humans. Soma Cruz uses most, if not all, of Dracula's powers just fine. (And yes, I know what Soma really is, but he still seems very much human to me.)
For example, there are lots of programs to extract a ZIP file, such as WinZIP or WinRAR. And they all basically produce the same file. But use a faulty program, and in the end you may have a corrupt file or a computer that crashes. Maybe Ecclesia needed to release Dominus 2.0.

oh yeah and another thing, remember at AoS, when soma absorbed the skeleten spearman it felt like he was punched? he wasn't used to absorbing souls at that time. other than being a soul incarnation, soma couldn't also weild much of dracula's powers, in DoS the 2nd Bad Ending where celia uses the fake mina to forcefully reveal the power of dracula the same... when he let it out he couldn't control it anymore, and also, transforming him into 2nd form of dracula on SOTN (when richter was battling dracula) :D

So I guess what you all are saying is that dracula isn't hurt because it's his own power he has "naturally". I guess that could be true, then again, just because it's your power doesn't mean it can't hurt you. This case could have something to do with Dracula being a vampire. Though as you say, when drac's power was taken and used to make Dominus, it could have been corrupted in the process.
I guess it's true. You can only control what you are meant to.
Ok, now that we have covered Dominus, what about the other glyphs? I mean if drac's power used for Donimus was corrupted, could the same thing have happened when the other glyphs were made from other things?

uhh actually it's not, i remember that albus saying that shanoa forgot to handle/use the power of the glyphs? other than that the glyphs came from the enemies right? shanoa can handle minor glyphs before since it doesn't much contain power, oh and also it doesn't get corrupted or it won't get corrupted anymore because shanoa herself absorbs it. dominus is taken from drac and processed to be a glyph meaning it had some experimentation to go through plus it has highly abusable powers that shanoa can maintain easily, glyphs that are coming from enemies are fresh from themselves so shanoa just kept absorbing them without problems :D
just like the soul system but soma can handle almost all of it, other than dracula's powers itself XD

yaa, thats a pretty dumb question sorry, but it only hurts us because its his power, that would be like if albus used shanoas's glyhps and got hurt then shanoh used the glyphs and got hurt, it wouldnt make sense, its her power.

Huh? Shanoa doesn't own the glyphs. OoE's hard mode also makes it very clear that Albus can use any glyph.

uhhh i think you got it wrong too, you said that if albus absorbs shanoa's glyphs? errr... shanoa doesn't own any glyphs just what paletteswapmonster said, that albus as well can absorb glyphs, when i was playing and at oblivion ridge church shanoa got frosted in torpor (whatever you call it) then albus absorbs the dominus itself, so what happened (ultimate spoiler) albus took control of it when it was absorbed but later on dominus is already consuming his body...

yeah it was weird too ... that nuclear radiation could have killed him but it turned him to godzilla XD but in real facts he could've died from that radiation too :)

Yeah, well. Take David and let him use the GIANT HAXX0R SWORDZ of Goliath. He just can't handle them because they are WAY TO BIG AND AWSUM. I mean, yeah, with them he gets 1337 KILLPOWERZ but he will maybe cut his own legs off or just collapse under the weight, while Goliath can handle them easily, because he is big and haz teh skillz.
I think, that way everyone in the internet can understand.
