i own the game but i love them old voices for sotn i would love it if i could rip the voices out some way.
and replace them with the cool voices it had before.
does anyone know of a way?
-
I dont think thats feasable, plus tho in options main menu you can put the game under the language options to japanese which is the original voice cast or, sign up and pay sony 10$ to download the original SOTN on psp fomr the psp store
-
A shame, isn't it?
The original voice actors were awesome, and were replaced with these shitty ones (Except for Dracula). This is what happens when one person complains, and everyone else follows just to fit in.
-
SOTN's original dub was of "so bad it's good" quality.
Alucard sounded too bored.
Richter sounded too over the top.
Maria sounded too old.
Dracula sounded too AH, SARCASM.
-
maria sounds too young in the redub
-
I tried editing the iso with a few things, but it all caused the iso to be unbootable on the PSP.
-
you'd have to figure out how to convert the psx sounds into psp's new format and do it so that the new voices would take less space than the originals too.

Does not.

I just laff every time IGA comes up with a story idea or some new idea regarding story and voice acting and so forth. So they redub SOTN...only to make it sound worse. Honestly, all of the voice acting is terrible, and the writing isn't good either.
The original SOTN English voices actually have a lot of fun lines to quote, and I agree that it's of the "bad it's good" variety. It's not TERRIBLE, but it is pretty poor. But we all love that opening dialog between Richter and Dracula. We quote it. We know it word-for-word. We love Alucard's stoic voice (which actually FITS his character very well). We love the ferryman's insanity. We love the librarian's "Hee-hee, thank you!" And so on.
-
all i can say is "Die monster, you dont belong in this world!" possibly one of the cheesiest but greatest lines in the game :p

Gah and if someone can figure out how they can extract all the games into isos for play on a pcengine or psx.
Then we have ourselves an english version of Rondo on a pcegine console or VC.
Then we would also have the sotn+ with bad voice actors. But I hope that can change.
-
Maybe someone could even fix the glaring synch issues in the Rondo voice files.
-
thats cause they are N64 rom types, and they used PSO and some other means to take the files. i prefer playing rondo on the wii, and sotn on the 360, both on tv and original voice acting

I don't really see what's so bad about the redub's voice actors. They're not amazing, but I find them effective.
I also really like the re-written text.
It is kinda interesting seeing SOTN dialog scenes in a serious tone instead of 'oh man this is going to be terrible'.
Something different. Might as well make an option for choice available.
You could always buy SOTN for your PSP.

the old voices were great and sounded alot better then the psp redub.
i say oh man this is going to be terrible when playing the redub version.
makes my ears hurt when i hear Alucard talk now, i hate the line at the start of the game the most Alucard say's*old man*
oh well nothing can be done, to be honest the psp version isn't that much better anyway.
well i got the ps3 version i got on the psx network
on another note i really wish they would get the same actor that did Alucards voice in english for the new game.
but doubtful that'll happen with IGA saying he hated it and all:(

Eh, Castlevania never really had good dialogue. The fact that SotN's was so awful it was funny doesn't make it good, either. Curse of Darkness had excellent audio quality for the voice recordings, but the script didn't allow for any kind of expression. Dialogue is hard for me to write, so I can see where other people would have trouble, but I don't have millions of dollars behind my projects. I can give Iga the benefit of the doubt because it's translated, but I will say it's a good thing story isn't that important to the games (SotN rocked because of gameplay and level design augmented by top-notch visuals and audio - NOT because it had a story).

I think you are right.
