WHEEEEEE! XD 8-bit action figure!
hmmm do you think it's really flat like a refrigerator magnet or maybe round? hard to tell from the image.
-
Looks to be 3-D ish from another picture I saw of it, still looks a bit creepy, but at the same time neat.
-
If you can imagine stretching the 8-bit sprite of Simon into 8-bit 3D, then you're all set. It's pretty cool, but I really wouldn't call it an "action" figure... more like a tiny statuette.
-
You call THAT a bonus? I can make something like this myself!
Even from legos!
In fact, hehehe, sounds like a pretty good idea. I'll try to make one just for fun.
EDIT: Looks like I don't have enough pieces to make one of lego. But don't worry, shortly I will make a 8-bit Simon of wood-cut. And then we'll see what a the toy is worth! ;D

Here are some pictures of the one they sold at Comic-Con, scroll down:

Also, In the latest issue of Lee's Toy Review there is an article about the CV figures. They talk about how the Gamestop exclusive will be painted in Simon's Quest colors. Since the brown one is on the website though, that makes me wonder which it will be.
Here's that link:

The DXC Pre-Order one is Red, Black, and White like Simon is in Simon's Quest.
You can see a picture of it on Iga's blog.

I guess it wasn't as much a waste to already order one from the comic con. I think they make a pretty cool bonus

man Id preorder just for that. CV2 is my fav game ever.
-
Would anyone happen to know if Game Crazy is participating in this as well?
-
Yeah, it's just the one from ComiCon. I bought one on ebay a month ago for $12. It's an immovable figurine that is full 3D. 2 arms, 2 legs, even eyes and a nose (kinda). Looks cool from the sides, but kinda scary from the front.
Still pretty cool though. But something made from PixelBlocks (http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/cubegoodies/6950/action/) would look less...rounded.

Those are cool 8/16-bit sprite figures!
-
Will this be the only one made? Like, will there be other characters like Trevor or Chris in the future?

Chr...ch....chris? O_o' ...X_X .... o.O''
OH! Yeah, that one belmont that no one knows about. ::)
The biggest thing we'll ever get of Christopher Belmont aside from a comic book (which was actually enjoyable), and a "Bullet Tip" homage to his whip which was features in HoD, I don't think we'll be seeing this stud anytime soon in anything else. :(

That comic is garbage. I say that as an avid castlevania fan, and an avid comic fan.
And yes, NECA has confirmed that they will start a full wave of "8-bit" figures. Though it won't just be Castlevania.

I think we need a Kojima manga series for Castlevania to be honest.
Even so, I guess it was still neat to get the Chris comic though. I mean...could have been even worse...somehow.
Overall though, it amuzed while it lasted for the most part.

The CoD manga is probably the closest we're gonna get.

The art in the comic was great. I liked at least as much as some of Kojima's work. It was the ass terrible writing that killed the comic.

Could have been better too. They could at least somehow stick to the official designs. Chris was over 50, getting pretty old and his hair was dark brown. :P
But I guess the usa cover art that shows Simon is at fault here.
