Title: Greatest Belmont

I personally like Trevor.

Alucard's the greatest Belmont. :P
I voted for Simon. He has flaming crimson hair, yellow eyes, and he still kicks ass.
And if you hate that look, you have Conan with a whip, down to the headband and greased buttocks. What's better than a Vampire Hunter who looks like he could eat an orphan? A whip-wielding one.

Simon or Richter......*head explodes*

Leon: We all know he loved Sara like a sister! In reality, he's the homo that represents how amazingly kickass gay culture is at wielding that BDSM piece of leather called the Vampire Killer! I mean LOOK AT HIM!  :-*

Nah, on a serious note, he is my favourite Belmont alongside Juste... I was torn between the two, but I think I'll stick to Leon as the hair-higher best one. He was just... <3 Beautiful!

Even though I did also enjoy Kojima's Simon! Hurray for orphan eating whip-wielders as Azmodan said!

Simon good but Trevor is the man ;D
but Simon is #2 in my book even if everybody has voted him #1.
Trevor will always be the most kick ass Belmont in my book.

For me is Christopher. He is the only Belmont that he was having to fight and defeat Dracula twice and save his son.

That's reason enough for me to think of him as the coolest and stronger Belmont among the others belmonts.

He was talking about conan-style Simon.

i like julius because he kicks ass in Dawn of Sorrow and also Alucard is not a belmont. Neither is Johnathan Morris or John Morris, but they are related to the belmont family by blood

Excuse me, but where did you see at the poll the name Alucard?

Someone said Alucard is the greatest Blemont. Personally, I don't get it.

Alucard controls/plays better than most Belmonts. But that's irrelevant.

I don't understand how anybody can feel that Julius is there favorite. He just came out a few years ago.

And to make matters even more brilliant, the dude's never even had his own game, and from the two games he was in, only one actually was any fun and that was AoS as an extra character mode... And to top it off, he was very frustrating and rugged to use in DoS.

With that said, I wonder what type of play mechanics he'll have in the 1999 game?

I can see him being a more physical version of Juste Belmont. He seems like he wields enough magic to the point where his Grand Cross was more of a magical holy vortex (with the sucking ability and all), and even the ability to lock away Castlevania in the eclipse.

I bet he'll probably have some kind of other weapon, probably a sword or something similar. Obvious sub weapons, and perhaps wielding the Axe instead of a sword so it's an actual weapon. His 'comrades' which are mentioned by him and Iga on occasions are bound to be interesting too, and I wonder if maybe they'll be just support crew, or intertwined in actual combat. Hopefully Germain joins their ranks. One of the most elegant designs that kicks ass as a non-central character since Genya Arikado.

I am most of all interested to see Kojima's idea on his earlier design. I ADORED the designs she did for the revised Trevor Belmont, for the young/revised Richter Belmont, and her concepts on Dracula for every game. Hell, even the one from HoD, despite its blandness was very cool with the way he mystified into bats.

Unless Iga dooms us to fall into a miserable existance where the 1999 game is done in...DUN DUN DUUUUN : Anime...  :'(

I thought the whole sealing in the eclipse deal was the Hakuba priest's doing while J, Al and as of yet unnamed Belnades crew did their own thing, probably went to kill Dracula.

Well at least i think it was on that timeline thing, as well as hinted in aos.

Yeah, it's stated plainly in Dawn's text files that the sealing was the Hakuba priest's doing.  As told in Aria, the whole idea of confining evil inside a solar eclipse comes from the Japanese myth of Ama no Iwato, in which the sun goddess Amaterasu hides herself in the darkness of a cave to put an end to the bullying of her brother Susano-O.

^^ Forgive the misinformation. I guess I didn't pay much attention to Dawn's "plotline".  :-\ Nor do I think that it's hard not to have much interest in the saturday morning story...

1. This was all made clear in Dawn's "Library" feature.  It had nothing to do with the main plot and didn't smack of anime lunacy at all.  My goodness.

2. Dawn just clarified this plot point anyway.  It was discussed originally--and to a greater overall extent--back in Aria.

You are a very grumpy person.  ??? Do you ever sound like you're not angry or upset at what others are saying...?

And as for Aria, I remember nothing of the sort being discussed in 'deeper detail'.

You had to talk to Mina to trigger that story.

At which part of the story should I do that? I remember that different conversations were activated at different times. :( Last time I played the game was nearly 5 years ago.... Mid 2003...

She told me that story after I have completed all the other stuff in the game (I think after Soma realizes he's Dracula). Either before or after that.

You're saying all that assuming there will be a 1999 game, which as far as I know, hasn't been confirmed that there will be one. Personally, I don't want to waste a new castlevania on anything connected to the 'sorrow' series. I'd rather find out what happens a long time after then. Hopefully Alucard will be the main player in a future game that follows the 'sorrows' (only if there is one, that is).

You don't have to be very far in to trigger her explanation. I think you could hear it once you're out of the Inner Quarters, or maybe it was before.
But yeah, Steve stated it pretty much word for word.

Yeah, except the game itself refers to Ama no Iwato as "Amanoiwado," and the kanji in Amaterasu Omikami are transliterated as "Tensho Daijin."  The translators obviously didn't get the reference.    8)

You got a GOOD point with the cape thing!! I just love capes. No character in anything is complete without one!
