Yeah, so this one's finally coming out...there hasn't been a true Street Fighter sequel in over ten years, but what ever...

Here's the teaser trailer for IV.
Can't wait.
-
'Bout friggin time. I hope it stays 2D
-
I to hope that it will stay 2D. This trailer looks awesome!!
-
HAHA the topic title really made me laugh! :D
-
I hope its 2d too or atleast PLAYED in 2d. The 3d street fighters have sucked hard.
-
Wow! I kinda lost interest in Street Fighter after they released SSF2 Turbo, but this looks pretty awesome! I'm kinda hoping they don't go the Mortal Kombat route and have a bazillion characters either.
-
Best of luck to part 4.
I'm just a casual SF player though.

So wait, you were never interested in Alpha, then?

I emulated Alpha 3 and it was a cool game, but i didn't really understand those 3 fighting choices they gave you. I only really used the A-ism one. I read some FAQs about the others, but I STILL didn't get how you were supposed to use them. I also didn't like how cartoony the graphics were.
-
The three choices are Aism/Zism (alpha 1 style par bar,) Xism (ssf2T/X power bar where it is a one level power bar, but is stronger,) and Yism? (alpha 2 power bar where you can do super combos.)
Other than the different power bars and costume differences, I cannot recall if you can block in the air with Xism
-
I think you mean V-ISM for the last one.
And, no, you can't air block in the air in X-ISM (it essentially mimics SSF2 style, as you mentioned).
As for SFIV, I hate saying much without ample information. The trailer doesn't really tell me anything, unless that's actual game play footage, in which case, it still doesn't really tell me anything.
-
Alpha owned....... cuz Ken got long hair! Nuff SAID! I think Ryu looks cooler young, but not as mean... I guess I don't like him wrinkly mean >.>

It didn't look like gameplay footage to me, it looked more like an intro or cutscene. But still, I'm glad to see taht SF is still alive and kickin'!

2.5D

Cool I hope the graphics aren't cartoony like 3 that really turned me off to that game.

Generally speaking, if this was a fighting game forum you would have been crucified by now.
As for the graphics.. it looks good, but I guess I'm not surprised that Capcom is still too lazy to create as many frames and sprites as they did for 3rd Strike..which I believe is still the most animated 2d fighting game to this day. Correct me if I am wrong, however.
-
The Rumble Fish is more animated than SFIII.
It looks interesting... I have my doubts over the graphic style but it's still too early to make a final opinion. They need to release a gameplay video!

Did The Rumble Fish use sprites?
Honestly. I have seen footage but I never knew if it was polygons or actually drawn.
-
Sprites, but they parts of the sprites were rotated around and stuff. Odd look indeed. I prefer SFIII's over it.

Ah. I see.
But on topic, from the screenshot I can honestly say that Ryu does in fact look amazing. I mean, it looks like a comic book come to life or something..however, the background elements including the onlookers doesn't look so amazing.

Yeah I know I probably would but I just didn't like the game it didn't have the same feel as the others with those bad graphics and the gameplay didn't help at all.

Are you crazy? The graphics were smooth as silk and everything was so fluid... the animations were painstakenly drawn, it seems.
How could you possibly say something bad about the graphics? It doesn't make any sense. Please elaborate.

I wholeheartedly agree....and as I said, it is a fact that that game had more frames then any other Street Fighter game..
It is just barely opinion that the game was amazingly animated.

Wow ... what? SFIII is honestly the most fluid 2D animation anywhere. Film or game. Saying that, the gameplay was solid too. Graphically speaking, it trumps the previous SF games in almost everyway. Gameplay-wise, it certainly wasn't a slouch. I have no idea where these comments are coming from.

I agree. The anime stuff kinda turned me off even though some of it looked good. I just hate seeing another great series have to pander to anime fans. :P
But this! This looks amazing! So does anyone know what format this'll released for?

I just creamed my pants a 100x over after seeing that picture.
It looks almost cell shaded, but very realistic at the same time. All I can say, is that I need a Ps3 now more than ever.
-
They haven't announced officially the platforms, though it will most likely hit PS3 and 360. Hell, it's even hinted in the EGM article that the game may be put in Japanese arcades.
