Quentin Tarantino =P

Actually it'd be kinda fun to see his take on CV.

hell no,  none of those, especially not tarantino,  they would not respect the essence of Castlevania, and would just make up their own piece of **** concept of Castlevania.

Hard to call.  Nobody really has the right credentials, so just about any screenwriter, producer or director would be a major gamble.  Would the movie be a character drama, an ambitious epic, an action thriller, gothic romance, dark comedy, or a creep-out nightmarish flick? --Castlevania can be approached in all these ways and still more.  You almost need to have the approach decided up-front to name appropriate people for the job.

Director - Christophe Gans (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0304521/)

Writer - Yoshiaki Kawajiri (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0442791/)

Producer - Robert Bernacchi (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0076006/)

Cinematographer - Hisao Shirai (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0794174/)

Costume Designer - Alexandra Byrne (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0126107/)

I think the symbiosis would prove most apt for the title. As long as the film was three hours long it would be big enough to follow the obvious line of what my "dream team" would probably attempt to create.
Edit was for formatting of list.

I think the last thing we need is an anime writer to write the movie. That's just trying to make it worst than it probably already will be!

*Coughs and looks at Basilisk, Death Note, and (most of) Gundam*

Oh yeah, Anime has such horrible writing.

But seriously, not all anime have bad writing. Seriously, Saying all anime is like Naruto is like saying all American live-action TV shows are like Smallville-and thank god they're not. Not every anime is a the stereotypical Shonen piece of shit certain japanese studios like pumping out. *CoughToeiCough* But there are some really good studios that are known for releasing top-notch productions, such as B.O.N.E.S. or Production IG.

On topic, I'd propose a joint effort between Christophe Gans and Quentin Tarantino, because I liked Silent Hill and Kill Bill. Rhyme unintended.

I could go with Christopher Gans, that'd be fine. As far as the anime thing goes, yes I know I have a Zeon symbol as an icon from the original MS Gundam, but I on;y actually enjoy 3 animes: The original MS Gundam and series that are chronologically connected to it, Cowboy Bebop, and The Big O, just to clarify....

Add Samurai Champloo to that list  :D

I still think Guillermo Del Toro is well suited for a CV movie.

Alive directors: Peter Jackson or Sam Raimi, especially if they can capture any good horror elements. Advice from Romero may help.

Not alive directors: Any spaghetti-western director. Especially if you want Castlevania to have some serious grit and tear. And make Michiru Yamane do the soundtrack with Ennio Morricone.

Simple: Christopher Nolan.
If Gos were director, HE WAS GOD

I can understand that, though I'd add Basilisk, Speed Grapher, and Outlaw Star to that list. And Gundam 00, but only the full works and not the chopped up airing on Sci-Fi channel.

Eh, Champloo was funny at points, but overall it was pretty underwhelming. Especially the ending.

Kinda like DoS.

...I rather not see a Castlevania movie. The only way the fans would like it if Simon whipped a candle and Giant axe came out of it, lol. I rather see a Anime film. It wouldn't be cheessy and mostly likely keep the feel of the games better than live action. The live action film would look like a castlevania costume ball.

How does no one here suggest Guillermo del Toro? He's the perfect man for the job. Pan's Labyrinth is proof enough of that on it's own, but then when you look at the Hellboy films, and The Devil's Backbone, it's blatantly obvious.

Mitsuo Fukuda.

Dracula ousts Simon Belmont as the main character halfway through the movie, steamrolls the entire cast in the most unentertaining battle in history, and proceeds to repeatedly say "WHAT IS A MAN?" for the rest of the movie, with the plot treating it as actual, viable logic.

Christophe Gans had my vote for director of Castlevania the moment the final credits rolled on "Silent Hill." The man already has Konami's blessing, he's a competent craftsmen, and he has proven that he can handle both video game and anime adaptations surprisingly well.

Can I just say also that no matter who gets the job, they will not do any worse than Stephen Sommers did. Remember him? Directed his own Castlevania adaptation a while back starring Hugh Jackman? It was called "Van Helsing?" Anyway, I like the Stephen's films and got nothing against him personally, but his take on the epic struggle between Drac and his mortal monster-hunting arch nemesis was just a tad too trendy and not nearly as sharp as it should have been.
