It looks like some at WayForward would like to do a new Kid Dracula DSi game. No indication that they're actually trying to get a license for it or that anything is in the works, but it was brought up anyways.
I hadn't really thought that much about a new entry in the Kid Dracula franchise. Kid Dracula was born after the Dracula Curse version of Alucard came out and died right before the Symphony of the Night version of Alucard came out (when you include his Parodius adventures). I have always wanted to see Kid Dracula go up against Pumpkin one of these days.
I think we do deserve a new Kid Dracula game that explained his origins. Would an American company be able to get Kid Dracula right? What does "get it right" mean anyways for KD? Well, if no one else is going to make a KD game and WayForward is interested, I say go for it.

How is this "General CV Discussion"? I has little if anything to do with CV.

I would not object at all to WayForward making a Castlevania. But not for the DSiWare, dammit. I've spent enough money on handhelds as it is.

Yeah, it would be sad if I ended up having to buy another DS just so that I could buy a game that's $10 or less. Oh well, I'd do it anyways.

Please forgive my ignorance, but was the original Kid Dracula fairly popular? If not, they may not see any reason to 'revamp' the series, but if so, well, I think they might be able to do a lot of nifty things with a KD gaem on the DS ^^

I don't know how popular the game was.
