I've always wondered about that.
Was it actually going to be used in an unfinished level, or did Konami just tell the RoB sound crew to update an old song for the hell of it?
-
Because its awesome.
-
I don't know and I'm not checking my facts right now, but maybe it's a track you can unlock in the game?
-
Are you talking about the DXC Soundtrack?
I'm talking about the original Rondo / Bloodlines double CD soundtrack. From the '90s.
Because that's where the remix originally came from.
-
May be it's just a bonus?

It is written in Liner Notes.
akumajyo draculaX -bonus track-
17 jyuujika wo muneni (misiyoukyoku)
misiyoukyoku - Translation : unused music
The reason that became unused is unknown.
-
Because A: it's awesome, and B: it sort of fits the theme of a Belmont going to rescue his girlfriend/wife from a vampire. I seem to remember some Lament of Innocence CD having an awesome Cross Your Heart remix, too, and that game has a variation of this plot.

Every game should have that song it really gets the holy power flowing.

Thirding the sheer awesomeness of that Bonus Track.
For me, one of the coolest parts of the summer of 1999. :]
